Uhm you're right, it's very suspicious. Last month only bids on the same seller, not really believable.
We should investigate if people are getting second chance offers... but eGay doesn't let us see anything (in the past it was even possible to see the emails you figure !), so no possibility :S
Somebody should point this out to eGay I guess, but I think they are happy too (more money to them with the fees) and won't care a lot.
Next time he makes auctions I'll try to arrive second at least on 1 cd ^^ and see what happens.

eBay doesn't give a fuck, it is in their interest to collect higher final value fees on actions which in reality do not sell. With anonymous nicks, eBay has become the shill-bidders paradise. It is only logical for all big sellers to shill-bid on their own auctions. I would be shocked if there is someone that doesnt actually

i don't know the seller do shill-bidding or not. but it is true bad sellers can shill-bidding more easily after ebay hide bidder's account name. assume that seller's friend bid on the seller's items. how can ebay find the seller do shill-bidding even if that is actually shill-bidding?slayerhatesusall wrote:Stormspell is right, look at the bid activity with this seller for the 1st and 3rd highest bidders 100% and 50%: http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0380605015Helstar wrote:Sure ? Any proofs ?
I bet the seller will just send second chance offer to second highest bidder.
here is good example for shill-bidding.
the seller japanrarehunter do bid on his own items using his another account www_diskheaven_co_kr.

I used this form to check out our buddy randomcoils, and noticed he outbid me on some things I bid quite high on, only to relist them for a few dollars more than he won them for. What is his deal? Between shipping costs and eBay fees he has to be LOSING money on a lot of these items, so why fucking bother? Does he think it brings him some prestige to auction things all the time or something? Why outbid someone who needs the item when you've already got many copies of it, and you're not even going to make a profit? Pisses me off.gigadeth wrote:http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?V ... ed=1&all=1
I totally agree with you (btw, randomcoils = thallos ?).
And he's not the only one to do that, there are many others ... but we can't do a lot about it, we live in democracy and if they want to bid on everything, well ... be it ^^
Personally I was doing that a lot of years ago, but not to resell the cds, let's say to "improve" (finding copies in better shape, different/first press, using that cd to trade because I've been asked etc.).
But in the end I was finding worse condition doubles, wrong pressings (there wasn't musiksammler site yet xD !), and people always asked for more ("oh you found that ? ok then add this one also"...) so I totally cut it out.
No more doubles on eBay from me, you will never see my bids on things I already have (except when I'm curious to see who win a cd, see Holy Terror jap xD !). Even if it's 10$ buy it now, I let other people grab it
(right, Sovdat ?). Last but not least, I still have to find too many things I'm missing, so why spending money for something I already have =)

What about Silence ? It was 25$ ok, but still...sovdat wrote:Well where the hell do you find me??I don't remember buying any $10 buyitnow either

At all. I bought it 15 years ago here in Italy, when you were still watching cartoons on tv. And I even offered you the Viking cd in trade with Silence, with ANOTHER rare cd at your complete choose, but no, you wanted SIX cds in total ^^ so please hide yourself and shame on youBut we have a deal: You obviously have your own Viking copy, so you can let me have the spare one for $10

"So here's what I would take from your list for it - alltogether!
Kruiz "Kruiz"
Paradox "Product of imagination" (Price killers print)
Stone "Emotional playground"
Viking "Man of straw"
Watchtower "Energetic Disassembly" (IOA 1993 print)
Zero Option "Gate of utopia" (sealed)
If they're all original pressings (Kruiz on WEA '88, Viking on Metal Blade 1989, Stone on Megamania 1991??) they should cost around $300 on ebay,
though I would never pay myself such a price for these CDs, but neither would I for Silence
best regards
Boštjan"

You are missing the point. If these "reissues" were not made to begin with then these people wouldn't have fakes to bid on. If you don't know about old Record Labels and most new fans nowadays don't because they never bought vinyl, then you have no clue if these were originally released at the time when the music was first made availible or if another legitimate re-issue exists.Nebuchadnezzar wrote:NO! Here's the point :SideShow wrote:Here's the thing; it WASN'T released in 2007 by "Shock Wave Records". It was put on a cheap CD-R by Sam himself w/ cheap as hell laserjet printed "inserts" from low res scans. He's selling a non-existant "re-release" and taking advantage of people who don't know that the album wasn't re-released, but actually counterfeited.Nebuchadnezzar wrote:
Here's what was written in item's description :
THIS ACCUSER CD TITLED "WHO DOMINATES WHO" WAS RELEASED IN 1989/2007 BY SHOCK WAVE RECORDS.
It couldn't be more clear!! I don't like Sam's methods but the truth is that there are a lot of guys with smaller IQ than a butterfly...
The link Avenger posted has complete bearing on this. He mentioned at the tail end of that thread that the majority of these people getting ripped off are probably young, newer fans of the genres. They more than likely aren't part of communities like this; full of people that know what they're looking for and are able to spot a fake a mile away.
I see no humor in someone getting taken advantage of, nor will I lay blame on someone getting ripped off by a piece of shit bootlegger. People making, or knowingly selling counterfeits without saying explicitly so are thiefs, plain and simple. And Sam isn't saying he's selling a cheap CD-R, or a complete fake, he says it's a "re-release".
Sam & other bootleggers are cheaters & that AIN'T GONNA change, ok? So we have to protect ourselves. Just to understand do you mean that those guys were bidding up to $86 KNOWING that this was the reissue? Are you kidding me? The price was high because they thought that it was the first press as it was implied on the title of the auction. What exactly do you say? That it's only dealer's fault when he sells drugs? Wow! The poor junkies! They are buying drugs but it's only dealer's fault, crucify him! Oh come on, that is a story for small kids. How many are those "new" or "young" buyers with huge feedbacks? And it happens again & again! That's why the new bootlegs are coming faster than the speed of light.

Not really, I've seen a few copies of this on ebay pop up more then a lot of the CD's that I'm currently searching for. I have this with the OBI (of course) and paid about $60.Helstar wrote:That is really hyper-rare, I'm so lucky I already have it, bought 15 years ago or so, used (without the OBI *coff* *coff* ... WHO FUC*ING CARE!)
I've made a single bid, I want to know who win itahah
