Older discs from 1980-1990 are very bad in soundquality...I think, nowadays picture LP have not so extreme flaws. I have eg the new Proclamation - Advent Picture LP from NWN! and it plays fine...

Helm: What you described sounds more like a remix than a remaster, at least the way I've understood the terms, but what do I know eh?

In any case it's better to be safe than sorry, so an order for a pic disc should be made asap. (think I'll go with the bandpic one..)

Yes, originally, a remix is when you mess with the multitracks. A remaster is when you mess with the master tape and there's less you can do with it (modern compresson might even HURT the music rather than help it). However in terms of marketing-speech these two terms are used a bit randomly and this might lead to misconstrusion.

A brilliant engineer could punch up different parts of the mix even on a master by very smart equalizing. Anyway, best to listen before buying any remix/remaster.

No Way ! I never heard so bad sounding Picture discs in the 80ies like for example the newer ones from BLIND GUARDIAN or DEMONS & WIZARDS.
There is so much noise on them that you barely can hear them ! Picture discs can be product with a correct quality, but obviously not everybody is able.

So for me it's ABSOLUTELY NO PICTURE DISCS !!!
And i WANT to have a COVER !!!

Harry the Tyrant is an ace vocalist in my opinion. He is not some whiny high pitch sissy but actually a vocalist with power and passion. Though still somewhat "typical" he is clearly superior to many other hailed US metal vocalists, such as Jon Cyriis, James Rivera, Carl Albert, Joe Comeau etc.
Though, if put next to a Jon Oliva or a Tim Baker, he falls short of course.
