Johan Quizz is great of course but the tracks from Dark Ice and especially Cartago suprised me! Nattens Skuggor is great imo and has a cool spirit from the start to the epic choirs and to the metallic bells in the end!

It's no secret I'm a die-hard fan of Home-Made Hard Rock/D.I.Y. Proto-Metal, so I though it would be appropriate to upload a recent discovery in the Completely Unknown FWOSHM 7"-area: BOOTLEG's impossibly rare 7" from 1982. Just borrowed and ripped this from a friend and it's really the only copy I've ever seen or heard about. Nothing earthshattering I guess but if you enjoyed earlier uploads like TYFUZ, JEREMIAH, HOROSCOPE, TURBO etc it's well worth checking out. Ignore the 1st boogie-rock-minute of side A and give it a chance..

Dan are you complaining or something?
EDIT: Thanks for this rare Swedish 7". It's not bad at all, both tracks are decent , but somehow lack the punch of the later and more metallic 7" Swedish acts. How can one suspect the metallic relation of this single with such artwork anyway?

Very charming hard rock and I like this more than TURBO or HOROSCOPE. I find BOOTLEG some what closer to HM. "Tankar Om Dej" reminds me of some other song (nwobhm possibly) but I can't pin down *what* exactly.

I love Mitt djup blir ditt djup! Great song. I don't like their single at all thoughDaN wrote:You know, together with those 2 SNÖFALL-songs this makes a pretty nifty "conceptual mix-CDR"...
So who will be the first to see the genious in the DREAM and DARK ICE cuts then?
Snöstorm (later known as Snowstorm) is one of the bands I didn't know if to include in my books or not, but their first single "Fuzzy" is by far their most "hard rock". Most of their stuff is very poppy, especially their major hit single "Sommarnatt". The guy on the right of the cover of the "Kan vi inte få sluta tidigare" LP is Dille Diedriksson, later in Don Patrol.Derrick Metaliszta wrote:This wasn't a Metalband, but may lightning strike me now if this track wasn't an Epic Metal scorcher!!! The lyrics must be pretty stupid since I think the title means "really fantastic"... maybe the Swedes know this band and don't even care mentioning them, but this song deserves to be heard!!!

Yes, I saw and downloaded it. Thanks!!
Vol3 is coming on fine. Fuckin hell how many Swedish death metal bands are released on small Polish, Greek, Malaysian labels!! Incredible!
I've also (several with the aid of all you nice people here) found a load of oldies.
Just placed an order to Snow Records for the following:
MAKE-UP my first love SWEDEN HARDROCK 7" @ $15.99 = $15.99
SLYSIDE endless road SWEDEN HARDROCK 7" @ $14.99 = $14.99
DIRTY VIKINGS, THE my witch SWEDEN HARDROCK 7" @ $18.99 = $18.99
SEREGON vantar pa em var HARDROCK SWEDEN LP @ $28.99 = $28.99
END OF SILENCE pride SWEDEN DEATH METAL 7" @ $13.99 = $13.99
SIGN carry your cross SWEDEN METAL 7" @ $14.99 = $14.99
(I'm sure a few of them aren't even to be considered hard rock... but what the hell).
Also asked Tomo to specify what style the Tommy Mac Frees (feat Ragne Wahlquist) is. It's a bit too expensive to risk ordering.
I will have a band list ready in just a few days. What I do is I write the band names AND hometown (as there are some with the same name).
Cheers!
Janne
