Actually there are more 1967/1968 songs that sound Heavy.
Hard Rock/Heavy Metal was the continuation of Heavy Psychedelic
sound.

PS. The last posts seem off topic (since the recommendations are much earlier than 1978-79). Maybe a mod should seperate the topic and make a new one about late 60s/early 70's metal or something...

I can definitely think some more from 1968, but 1967??? Only
Cream-Sunshine of your love comes in my mind, but its much softer (though influential).

thats one of the traumas ive been having from the last months...i think i posted it some time ago remarking how heavy it sounded,just love it

It is a heavy guitar sound, but it's just a few returning notes, no full-on riffing.

well you may be right,but i tend to consider the vocal approach as well as the other instruments to tell if it sounds heavy to my ears...that song is a proto-doom track in my ears
