I kind of like those primitive and ugly recordings...
I kinda sorta have to agree. There's something very endearing about clueless teens doing their outmost to outbrutal the competition and failing with grandeur. SoS = So Bad It's Good rather than Kuster/Overdeth-funny-bad imo.

It seems I am not the only one who appreciates this WOM demo:
This will surprise you with something probably very few of the die hard black metal fans from the 80's have heard. We are right now in 1987 and this is a jewel! Do you remember Venom with "Eine Kleine NachtMusik" or very early Bathory when they released "The Return". This is alongdide with "Black Shepherd" and NECROSIS from Brussels one of the pioneering band of this genre. I even never have had the chance to witness any live act of that band nor read an interview, so this will remain a complete enigma for me. The first song "WIND OF MAYHEM" is so close to a mixture with Early Bathory and Venom, that is manifest, so dark so pure and captured when bands like MAYHEM or DARKTHRONE were known only to a very restricted audience of die hard maniacs. Think "Deathcrush" EP first edition or "Land Of Frost" demo. "Symbol Of Fidelity" got these very primitive riffs that would inspire ILDJARN 10 years later on but the infernal breaks are so close to such bands as early VENOM, early SLAYER, early SODOM, early BATHORY...."Forces of Evil" is another amazing anthem with these weird riffs in which you can feel the vibe of the early 80's. The vocals seem to be behind the guitars but also the reason is that the sound has been recorded with now old fashioned equipment. "Aaarrrggghhh" is a very primitive song, whic prove playing such primitive stuff in the mid 80's was one of the norms of early black metal. "Welcome In Mayhem" starts with some bass parts, i even think of early Death in the Scream Bloody Gore times structurewise but even in a much more primitive way and the vocals between Cronos (Venom) and Quorthon (Bathory) are a clear prove of WIND OF MAYHEM's most primitive approach of black metal. Long life to "The Great Chasseurs De Poules", Rosa, Myriam and Virginie for having inspired WIND OF MAYHEM lyrically, leaving...an absolute GEM in the belgian metal history!

primitive but really cool. I had it in a really bad rip. Thanks for the better rip! Wish you could upload more bands such that (perhaps the complete Agressor -GER- demo, or some other german/north european proto grind/death.. Hellsaw, Acrid...). I have all such stuff on tapes, but i know my sound isn't the best, being my tapes highly worn..

Yeah, I got original Acrid and Aggressor demos, but especially this Aggressor (Ger) takes guts to listen to, its cool but maybe too chaotic and noisy. Well, this is how I remember them. Same goes to Sadist (Ger).

Sadist songs are completely unstructured. Agressor at least has some proper riffs.. By the way, i've got a brazilian demo, Prepucio, female raw death/black band.. any idea of the year? should be mid/end 80s..

@ Black Axe, rehearsal from some years ago is already an improvement:
