"Killing Technology" for me.

To address briefly other topics:

- Yeah I like "Cold Lake" and do think it is CF's best and most sincere album, regardless what Tom G Warrior says nowadays.

- I hate LOAD, ugh!

- "War and Pain" is a tad too raw and sloppy to my taste, but it is still a very good album. I also dig Angel Rat a lot, but nothing afterward.

+1 on the "no Piggy, no Voivod" statement.

I've been into Voivod for as long as I can remember and also as part of the Iron Gang in the early-mid 90's & the thing I loved the most about this band is how different they sounded & always have.
Voivod sound like no one, they are originators!
Even when they released Angel Rat & went "alternative" as mentioned before  they were still Voivod - not Tool or Nine Inch Nails.
Every album is unique in it's own way & that's what rules about them... ..everything they've ever released has been fresh, different, exciting and pioneering.
No one played guitar like Piggy, Aways drumming, futuristic art & concepts are mind-blowing. & mix this together with the crazy punk-like, French-Canadian accent of Snake shouting about outer space & mutants and you have a perfect blend of everything that's great about metal!
I love Killing Technology!
IMO it's their defining masterpiece, but I also love Nothingface, Outer Limits & from the recent era Phobos was incredible.. Personally I love 90% of what they've released.
If anything, Infini has been the hardest for me to get into, maybe b'cos it just doesn't have the true VV feel to it without Piggy in flesh, but truthfully maybe I just need to listen to it some more??
RIP Piggy

Listening to Phobos now & liking it a lot. Definitely much more inspired than the other Forrest album Negatron. Hatröss & Nothingface are still the twin peaks for me.

Me too, I was very curious when I read that. How can Tom be so ashamed of such a "sincere" album??

Seriously, I'd be more ashamed of the last CF album.

I don't hate Cold Lake. It's a curious album, but listenable, despite how nelly Tom's voice had gone. It's just a shame how it lacks THAT guitar tone.

War and Pain all the way. Not too fussed with later albums, but always respected the conceptual intentions of the band.

Maybe someone should start a Celtic Frost poll if you really wanna find out how many people like 'Cold lake'.
