I agree Saracen whould be half the band they are (and what a band!) without the sometimes cheesy-sound-using-but-not-cheesy-sounding-if-that-makes-any-sense keyboards.

No, they wouldn't because they would write completely different music that might be just as great.

I like the keyboards in many bands ,when they are used properly
create very beatiful songs.

Savatage - Gutter ballet and all their albums in example.

Savatage with Criss was poetry and class then they sucked until the last one(Poets And Madmen) which was surprisingly good one.

I think keys in metal are a hit-or-miss affair. Some bands know how to use them better than others.

I dont have a problem as long as it doesnt interfere with the songs, HEAVY METAL is about the guitarz, and when pseudo-metal bands start making atmosphere shit forgetting the GUITARZ it tottally loses its credibility

i accept them on good intros too...DEMON,MASTER'S HAMMER even DIO used them really wisely

in 99% of the cases I don't like keyboards in metal because it often seem to ruin the heaviness but there are always exceptions i.e it takes "somewhere up in the mountains" to a level that it wouldn't reach without the keyboard

Bulldozer`s "Neurodeliri" is special because of the keys...
