Hi - seriously thanks for the comments. The track you can hear is Dark December - a never previously heard Cynic track. Dom is doing 2 of the four solos you hear, and Shaun does the other 2, (not on this clip).
As soon as the artwork is complete - we will press the vinyl and CD`s, and offer it out to you guys.
I will have a go and get some more soundbites together- like Suicide in the 2006 version etc.
Best wishes,

Tim

CYNIC's 7" was a good recording, as is the demo. Great band, and I'm definitely buying this new album when it emerges.

There was a guy who once told me that the NWoBHM bands had great riffs, but often groan-worthy lyrics. I don't think CYNIC is a striking culprit in this, but there was one line on the excellent 7" that makes me groan all the time: "all the contracts of life, HE BREEEEEAAAACHES!" To sing that with total gusto...man... Anybody else chuckle a little at that, then go back to rocking out hard to the song?

Is that the actual line?

Hi Black Axe,

Thanks for the very positive comment - the album is all finished - Shaun is just finishing up the artwork for the album cover, and then we can put it into production and distribution - I hope very soon.

Will keep you posted - would you like a taster of all the tracks on the album?

Best wishes,

I absolutely love "Do Or Die". The somewhat mellow guitar tone, the melancholic singing and the general atmosphere of the track. It reminds me of a nice autumn evening, relaxing in front of the fire with a cup of tea. All in all it's one of the premium examples that NWOBHM doesn't necessarily have to be all galloping riffs and neck-wrecking mayhem.

Hi All,

A couple more samples from the album, especially for Khnud, "Do or Die", and a really heavy metal "Eight Below" - mainly the guitar shredding bits. I hope like em.

Torrents are for thiefs. The early material should be released in an official compilation album.

Any updates on the album (release)?

Hi Black Axe,

Thanks for letting me know about torrents - I had never heard of them, nor Seeds and Leeches?? All double Dutch to me - mind you I noticed they had some RUSH on the torrents, and copied it to my friends at SRO who manage RUSH - that should be interesting.

Yeah sorry for the dealy on the release we are just finishing off the artwork, and then production - Shaun is in charge of this - and he is very particular about "getting things right" its the Virgo in him - you should see him at band practice!

Best wishes,

Tim
