My question: is this a bootleg or a official CD - (re)-issue, because I thought it was only released as a LP on Minotauri. It's not the first time I buy a cd and then appears to be a fucking bootleg with shit sound-quality, so this won't happen again...
I got my CD version in 1996 (Minotauro rec) from Hellion and it has 1 track more than LP. It should be official release.

Does anyone know how to tell the Cirith Ungol - Paradise Lost bootleg CD from the original? I'm almost certain I have a bootleg (otherwise it would have cost more than $10), but I'd like to know for sure.

From metal-archives:

It was unofficially re-released around 2002. There is only very little difference between the original and the bootleg. The original CD (48:33) is six seconds longer than the bootleg (48:27) and it has "Printed in Canada" on the backcover and inside the booklet. Furthermore, the colors of the cover are slightly different - the bootleg is a little bit darker.

I love the way he has the 'loop-hole' clause in all his descriptions; for example: "WAS RELEASED IN 1986/2006. ITALIAN IMPORT" or "WAS ORIGINALLY RELEASED ON ***** LABEL IN 1989" - says it all really!
Yeah, watch out for anything that says it's on "Retrospect Records" - it'll be a pro-printed CD-R. I got a Trauma - "Scratch and Scream" CD from vegascds, and it was a pro-printed CD-R with an extremely cheap layout, and the tracklisting of the album was all out of order. What crap. I should have done my research first.

Yeah, just type his name in google and enjoy :) I asked him about the matrix of Agony CD few weeks ago, and he honestly said that it's just a title, and then he advised me "best not to buy" :D

His "Spanish, Italian, etc." imports are cheap bootlegs as well. Actually I don't even know if he has something legal for sale at all :) But it's cool if you want to get something that was never pressed on a CD before, although it looks horrible. Here's one example:

Does anyone know anything about the COVEN and WYZARD cd's on Metal Mayhem.com? I know they have some other bootlegs for sale (Mistreater!) but can anyone confirm that Coven and Wyzard are bootlegs? Also, if anyone has these cd's does anyone know if they include the original back cover art, lyrics, bonus tracks, photos, or anything else that would make them worth getting?

Thanks,
Kenny

Perris records released Wyzard a few years ago. Very poor insert, few information, no lyrics at all, but one bonus track. I don't remember if the complete original artwork was included. Not 100% sure but it must be official.

Ah...thanks a lot! I dont think Ill be getting it if its poor quality. Id rather wait for a better re-release to come out (if this re-release was as mediocre as it seems I cant see them not releasing it again). If they officially rereleased it on a 12" LP that would be amazing!

I know a guy with a Wyzard demo tape, Ive been meaning to ask him to rip it for a few months now, but I never got around to it...

Yeah, I dont mind that either. But I'll only buy it if it's cheap! I wont even get involved in a bidding war with price 'cos it'll just show up again and be available for $10 or something later on

My CD is 48:37 and has "Printed in Canada" on the back, but not in the booklet. It has the same barcode number as yours, though. Maybe it's some alternate bootleg?

My CD version of "Beyond The Crimson Horizon" by Solitude Aeturnus, is printed in Poland, apparently. I find it hard to believe it's an official release, but who knows? Anyone?

Unless I'm really mistaken, all the High Roller releases after the first few are legitimate. I know for a fact that everything they put out after they quit collaborating with Hades Paradise is 100% above ground. So I'd support those guys without any second thoughts!
