A great album, Exodus at his best !!

   indeed -that album was fucking dire...a classic case of an old band pandering to modern trends and the stupid mall rats that follow them...I felt embarrassed for Exodus when I heard it....

... but it remains 10000 times better than all the crap they released with Steve Souza.

TESTAMENT - The Legacy
SLAYER - Show No Mercy
SEPULTURA - Beneath The Remains and Arise
POWERMAD - Absolute Power
ZNÖWHITE - All Hail To Thee
EXCITER - Violence & Force
HEATHEN - Breaking The Silence
AGENT STEEL - Skeptics Apocalypse
EXODUS - Bonded By Blood

I guess some of you might consider alot of these bands/albums as Speed Metal..but is the difference between thrash and speed metal really that huge?

this pretty much sums it up for me, there's always bands that people forget about.
I'd add classic Exodus, Exciter, Sodom, Magnus, and Ripping Corpse. Also , the first The Dying Light album

As far as newer bands:

Villains
Hellish Crossfire

I will always worship the holy German trinity: Sodom, Kreator, and Destruction!

Another favorite thrash band of mine that hasn't been mentioned is Atrophy.

yep, all the bands of both contributors here minus Powerlord which I never heard.

I'll add the Force Of Darkness CD from Chile. The best Thrash band since ages together with Hellish Crossfire as well as all Coroner, French Agressor when they played Thrash, old Casbah, first Assassin, first 3 Sodom LPs, first 3 Destruction LPs and first two Kreator LPs. I also count Poison (GER) as Blackened Thrash, which came from my old hometown Laupheim/Ulm.

Thrash Metal Heaven:

Testament: Legacy
Holy Terror
Sacrifice: Forward to Termination (terminaaaaaaaaaaaate!)
Sepultura: Beneath the Remains/ Arise
Coroner: Punishment for Decadence
Razor: Evil Invaders (up your ass! right here! right now!)
Slayer: Reign in Blood/South of Heaven/ SEASONS IN THE GOD'S FORSAKEN DARKEST FUCKING BLACK LAVA PIT OF THE ABYSS
Sacred Reich: Ignorance
Exodus: Bonded by Blood
Ulysses Siren
Vio-lence: Eternal Nightmare/ Oppressing the Masses (riffs per second)
and probably some more that escape my mind at the moment...

By the Gates, waiting to be called in, sipping blood, brain matter and semen:

Carnivore and Hellhammer (provided they qualify for thrash metal)
Metallica: And Justice for All (probably my all-time favorite heavy metal album)

I don't really care much about early Sodom and brutal German thrash, for that matter. Destruction is a rather "hit or miss" case for me and I can only care for some early songs and Extreme Aggression/Renewal by Kreator. Absolutely weird and awesome German Thrash in my book= Necronomicon.
"The destruction of a thousand billion sea creatures to satisfy man's appetite for metal is insane"

Days Of The Locust. My blog o' movies.
