Bang Your Head is excellent festival, would like to go there once again but I don't have holidays right now.
Damn I was pissed when special guest star in 2005 was Hanoi Rocks. I get all the way to Germany and then fucking Hanoi Rocks is there. Maybe gods of heavy metal had their revenge with that hailstorm on the second night.
I'm gonna see Primordial&Morbid Angel in two weeks.

DAMN!! That MANOWAR setlist is just about the most beautiful thing I've ever laid eyes on
So was this a one-off event, or are they taking this show to Europe as well?
Hoping to see IRON MAIDEN in Stockholm this wednesday if I can score some affordable tickets outside Stadion. Anyone else here going?

Was this planned?
And did you actually stay for the entire show?
Where were you seated?

Shows over one hour of
any band and I get fed up with it. That in combination with manowar makes your concert experience a definition of horror to me.
Last show I went to was Obscene extreme festival in Czech republic, grindcore-orientated. Saw some cool things I didn't know like Ass to mouth from Poland. Also heaps of crap grindcore bands. Macabre sucked, no enthousiasm whatsoever. Only plus was a cover of Countess bathory. Impaled nazarene rocked, playing lots of their old black metal stuff. Extreme noise terror was nice too. The singer from Alehammer was incredibly drunk, kudos for honouring his bands name.
Next gig probably Bolt thrower. Been too long since I last saw them, death metal gods.

A few nights ago I went to the South Bay Music Festival on Long Island. Lots of great blues/rock stuff (Savoy Brown, Popa Chubby!

etc), and a few bands that just totally kicked ass in every way...Mainly THE GOOD RATS and BLUE OYSTER CULT. Amazing day beginning to end! After The Good Rats set I spoke to Joe Franco for a little while about his tutorial VHS tape "Double Bass Drumming" (great video, really helpful!) and talked about his gigs he played with THE LIZARDS (Bobby Rondinelli of WARLOCK, SABBATH, RAINBOW, QUIET RIOT etc's current band, although they founded by my drum teacher Phil Weiss before he had to go to rehab in 1998).
The next show Im planning on going to is HEAVEN & HELL / MOTORHEAD / JUDAS PRIEST / TESTAMENT at Jones Beach Theatre. Maybe some small stuff before that, I dont know.
