The seller realized that it skips on the B side, so he re-started the auction with a more accurate description. Already close to $600 again, even with the skipping explained.

It'd be interesting to know how much it would have brought compared to what it will bring now.

It could very well be, although...

Play it safe and ask for a scan.

If it's an original that's a very good price.
"it is a 100% original disc - guaranteed"

I'll take this as a yes - as I once contacted him about Agony asking the same things as now and his reply was "better not to buy" :) Well it better be ...

And we have a new record. Stormchild went for 2152 GBP's.

You fail to mention it has a skip on the B-side.
So it seems NWOBHM-collectors care more about a missing sleeve (i.e. the discussion about prices with or without ps we had last year) than about a skipping vinyl

Depends on how much it skips too. Still a crazy price YES, BUT, buying vinyl is about more than just the music.

He updated the auction wherer he said it didn't skip on his friends deck. But that depends how much pressure you have on the needle I guess.

I sold a Burzum S/T LP (not on ebay) that jumped back, forming an infinite loop in the middle of the record. The guy who bought it mailed me and said the record played without any problems on his turntable.
Still, if it skips on one turntable something is wrong.
