what are your predictions? I say 450$.
I wonder why people keep saying this CD is from 1993 when it clearly says 95 on the obi?

no, it say "To 1995". exactly it is saying "the price 2000 YEN is validated to 20 OCT, 1995". as the retail price is validated for 2 years, it means the CD was released 20 OCT 1993.

Well, Holy Terror (PCCY-00481) cd has no IFPI code, while Onslaught (PCCY-00480) has it ... two of them ! Inner ring 4542, near matrix L276.

Kind of confusing as both have also the same date on the backcover (93.10.21) and the same one on the OBI (95.10.20).

Has this always been so expensive ?
Yes, but the popularity has died down in recent years. I still don't know what year this record is actually from.

It's common with some Japanese pressings to state two different years on the back insert and OBI. There is a King Kobra CD among others also pressed on Pony Canyon with the same issue. If the disc has an IFPI Code though that would disprove the 1993 year making 1995 a more viable release date.

I think a lot of the people that are listing the 1993 year either do not have the OBI or don’t realize that there is also a date on the OBI.

Read Gigadeth's post a few posts up. The later date is for how long the price written on the OBI / CD is valid. So the later date is not the valid one, but if the CD has IFPI codes it suggests that the early date isn't valid either. It's a mess.

I discredited that for reasons already stated. 1995 Makes sense to me.

While I don't have the Holy Terror CDs specifically I have other Japanese CDs and I just checked, most of them have the same Kanji-character in front of the price as in front of the later date. Therefor I discredit your reasoning that the later date is guaranteed to be the release-date.

maybe you don't read japanese. but this japanese database say the release date of this Holy Terror is 21th OCT 1993. but they was pressed only one time? maybe no. they might be repressed many times after 1993, and the matrix code can be changed. i have asked some japanese sellers for the matrix code of 1st japanese press. but nobody knew that. people believe his CD is 1st japanese press if the catalog number is the oldest one. and such thinking is good for their health.

Maybe if the date is 1993-1995 then there can be versions pressed throughout these years, early ones without ifpi, and later runs with ifpi?
