This was meant sarcastic (therefore the icon), but I had it indeed on the list but bank account is already at zero. But I agree with Astra Wally ... sometimes a few things are slipping thru the radar of all the other concurents.

Next time it will be more. You just need to show that Piece around and you'll see prices exploding monthly. Once in near future it crosses the 150-200 $ borderline.

You seem to believe every US hard rock/metal single has skyrocketed in price lately. This is NOT the case, quite a few are cheaper nowadays, some much cheaper. Naturally, the price is increasing on the ones I don't own, and dropping on the ones I already have...

And the price on many singles DROPS as more copies come out of the woodwork, so often the next copy sells for less, not more. Anyone who has paid attention to auctions in recent years (which obviously does NOT include prowler) has seen may US singles go from $100+ items to $40-50 items. Not many people are collecting these singles, so after the handful of 'high dollar collectors' each have a copy, the price drops pretty fast. Just one example:
Stormwindow:

maybe one more copy in that range too. Then...
$150
$100
$50
$30
and I think one sold for less than that.
I could probably cite a dozen examples similar to that one.
Kristian- you and I have the same problem; if I have it, no one wants it; if I want it, everyone else is driving the price up!
We all get some good buys and find some good deals, but we can't get everything for a steal.

It has been a $150 single since the mid 90's. Some recent lows, now back to normal. Still adjusted for inflation the price is about the same as 15+ years ago. Well not quite since I didn't see the $300+ price it finally stopped at.

watch ebay auction, I'm active bidder.
And that Emerald 7" will go up as most collectors (I mean those who are spamming the market with overpriced auctions just in fact they know a shit about the value or certain Vinyls) that surfaced in the last 1-2 years just find out "Huh, I don't have this "rare EP" and I guess I need it NOW no matter what Price I have to pay. No I won't unseal it nor I'll Play it but I NEED it badly!" And if you have 2 of them then you'll get the worst bidding war that you've ever seen (like seen on recent auctions). Try to explain that mister. hehe

It's agood example I think.But it fit's just for records with bigger (found) stocks.If a copy shows just once in 2 or so years price will be always high.Another thing is when market is over flooded with records.Think JONAS GRUMBY as good example.There's a copy for sale of this record almost every week and price is quite low.

You're absolutely right.... which is why it's ludicrous for people to claim that every single is rapidly climbing in price. It's supply and demand, simple as that. If Emerald- or any other single- only shows up once every year or two, then there's always gonna be people wanting it and waiting for a copy, so the price will remain high. If the same record starts showing up once every other week, demand will quickly be satisfied and the price will quickly drop.
Currently there are not a lot of people collecting US singles, so it does not take many copies to meet demand. And people are still figuring out which singles are truly rare and which ones will turn up regularly, and people are still finding quantity of some singles.
---Tora Orphan was very rare 6 months ago, but now more copies have been found.
---The line for a copy of Far East is very long, but if 2 dozen copies are discovered tomorrow, it'll go from Mythic to Mundane and the price will soon reflect that.
---For years only 1-2 (I think) copies of JUDGE have been in collector's hands, but in the past two months 2 more copies have been found; will more turn up or not? If so, the price will quickly fall from $200; if another copy doesn't show up for 3-4 years, then the price will go up next time.
Buying is a risk; you can't predict the future. If someone posts JUDGE on Youtube and 100 Legend fans go nuts for it, the price will soar next time. But if it gets posted and most people don't like it, then they're unlikely to buy it period.
