You are not refering to the "Underground" album by any chance? It was released in 2003 and i was recorded by Veljaca and a session drummer. It's not very good though, some decent riff ideas, but bad production, horrid vocals and shitty lyrics. A sad farewell to the mighty MERCY. :(

MERCY "Underground" is unlistenable to me. I actually liked "King Doom" though! They should have ended with that LP.

King Doom is indeed a very good album.

Yeah, "Underground" sounded like 2nd rate sludge doom :?
Yet some friends of mine still think it's amazing..

DeathLörd wrote:I just finished listening to the "Swedish Metal" 12". As I was putting it back in my collection I stumbled across and decided to look at the "Black Death" Pic 12" EP again. The pictures on the back are so fucking METAL!!! Can anyone post any rare photos of vintage MERCY here?? I'd kill to see more from that mid-80's era with Messiah Marcolin!
Unfortunately I didn't have any scanner at the time I did the Black Death pic disc 12" with Mercy. Andrija had several scrapbooks of old newspaper clippings and old photos. Had it been today, I would have scanned all that stuff. At the time, I borrowed a bunch of photos from him and sent them to the guy that did the graphics for me and later returned them to Andrija. Those newspaper clippings were awesome to go through. Some info I never knew about and that Andrija had long forgotten about, like Black Dragon being interested in signing Mercy around 1986 or so etc.

It's a shame Andrija rushed the Underground album like he did. I have tons of insider info about that album and he played bits and pieces of the songs he was working on for me a couple of times when I paid him a visit. They definitely had potential.

Here's something that's pretty badass, the original 1984 artwork by Jonas Darnell (who's now a famous comic artist here in Sweden). Andrija wanted me to have it and signed it to me personally. I have been thinking of getting it framed for years, but for some reason haven't gotten around to do it...

Well, I think you're forgiven when reading the Herman Hedning comic these days and not realizing this is the same guy who 25 years ago did artwork for bands like Mercy and Parasite

Hehe, I'm more likely to have read his attempt at 91:an not so many years later (also I first heard Mercy's Fingerprint stuff around 1989 or so).

I know TPL Records were talking of reissuing the King Doom album around the time Andrija passed away. I believe they planned to include a bonus DVD with the Karlshamn 1982 and Sölvesborg 1985 gigs. I know Andrija had some guy transferring his old VHS tapes to DVD before he passed away. Unfortunately I never received any copy of that DVD before it happened, but I believe the TPL guys did. They mention they would ask Andrija's ex wife about doing the King Doom album on CD but I doubt they ever did and they're no longer releasing any records as far as I know. Too bad - awesome album!

Thanks for the info. Too bad that never happened. Someone should pick up where TPL left and try to release it.
