It was a "Best Of" all the current material up to that date.

Yes but my point is that the band wasn't called DJINN at the time. So why name it best of djinn :P

Probably because it wasn't released in 1986. Does anyone has an official copy and it says it was released in 1986?

a friend of mine had the original copy and the first official release was 89 through Lvxor Records while the booklet said that it was recorded between 84 and 86....

Yep, the band was formed under Evil Blood, then changed the name to Lord Of Darkness, then Djinn and now Beneath....

It's still kind of weird because at least Metal-archives say became DJINN in '95. Ofcourse it can be wrong..

ahh now I see your problem :D
This CD "The Best of Djinn" was released something like 2 years ago, and not 1986 like it is written on Metal Archives. The material from the CD is from the 80`s though and was originally originally as Evil Blood and Lord Of Darkness demos...Hope you understand it now

Yes it's clear to me now :P And that '89 release you mentioned is midnight in sodom demo, right?

See? I knew it had to be something like that. I mean, MA is known for being good, but not 100% reliable. Probably somebody out of laziness saw somewhere this album for download or something like that and since it was an "84-86" compilation, he just put it as an 86 release. They don't ask for any comprobation about the dates of the releases to submit them.

Yes I was aware that the date could easily be wrong on MA but I wanted to be sure about it and then later misunderstood this

as that the compilation was released officially in '89 :)

Evil Blood-Midnight In Sodom is recorded in 1984 so it is a 1984 demo.Who cares if it was released massively on 1989 the fact is that it is a 1984 demo.

Question:The rest of the tracks in the compilation are from a demo should i label them under Lord Of Darkness-Demo 91?Or are Evil Blood random recordings after Midnight In Sodom demo? And if yes between which years?

Can anyone help?

Most of the other tracks are from the LOD "Seventh Sabbath" demo from 91, while the live tracks were taken from a LOD live demo, but I cant remember when it was released.
"Written In Blood" (not the live version here) is a track that was recorded for the never released album with the same title in 1993...

I have this DCD from Harris and it's very shabby made. Double CDR (at least with labels), pixelated crap cover and no backcover. And that's for 15 pounds, ugh. But hey it is signed, wow.
It has a different tracklist though then this rip here posted, with three or four additional tracks added. The labels name is Darkness Productions.
