I don't know why anybody hasn't done it so far, but TRIARCHY deserve a mention here. Especially their first 7'' Save the Khan/Juliet's tomb , which is an excellent piece of early NWOBHM. Quite similar to what SARACEN or DAWNWATCHER did some years later. For me it's one of the first real crossover releases in general. A-side, Save the Khan, is simply a killer atmospheric epic hard rock tune. The monstrous riffing and the enchanting and quite pompous keys travel you back in time in forgotten imaginary realms. On the other side, Juliet's tomb is more sludgey and you can certainly feel a strange and creepy graveyard atmosphere in there. Great track, anyhow. IMO the following 7" was not in the same league yet it remains a recommendable piece of the first NWOBHM period.

It's not an obscure NWOBHM 7" ripper, but following record is in my opinion one of the best NWOBHM outputs EVER !!! I "re-discovered" this gem lately after not playing it for "ages". It completely blew me away again. It's simple but so incredible effective. Another great example why Heavy Metal will never DIE !!! You can play this one in the year 2087 and it will destroy once again everything that will be played then.

HOLOCAUST: The Nightcomers LP = GENIOUS

Heavy metal mania = the last song at your funeral ??

Fuck, I need to put on some BLEAK HOUSE as soon as I get home and open the first beer of the weekend. Maybe follow it w/ some KRAKEN (we need a Complete Discography LP NOW!), SPARTA and the LEGEND debut.

the best 7''s in the nwobhm ? too much to choose from ...
here's my faves I guess (in no particular order) :

Hell - Save us from those who would save us 7''
Marquis De Sade - Somewhere up in the mountains 7''
Dragonslayer - I want your life 7''
Steve Crowther Band - Red herring 7''
Big Daisy - Footprints on the water 7''
Arc - War of the ring 7''
Lady Jane - The sheer power of rock 7''
Stormqueen - Come silent the world 7''
Hollow Ground - Warlord EP
Dawnwatcher - Backlash 7''
Juno's Claw - Barbara EP
Spoonfull - Troubled times 7'' (the a side)
White Heat - Soldier of fortune 7''
Prowler - Forgotten angels 7''

and one that everybody worships and I really don't like and consider less than mediocre, Tyrant - hold back the lightning 7''. it's just boring, and the vocal is extremely annoying. The b-side starts so well and then turns into crap. the demo is a bit better.

My interest for the first three grows more and more each day. if there are various problems to upload the whole 7''s, can we at least hear a sample of them (a minute perhaps) somehow?

The Tyrant 7'' is not a masterpiece due to the average b-side, but i cannot say the same thing for the demo material which is pure class all the way!

Another one that definitely belongs here: TRESPASS: Brightlights EP; pure perfection, a fucking NWOBHM ripper IMO.
