There wasn't good computers to get lost in,video games weren't very good,most people couldn't afford a vcr, people spent more time making and listening to music.

True.And the fact also that there wasn't so many musical trends.So it was more usual to play classic HM.

well, for USA, in the 80's....there werent 2 companies that owned all the radio stations in the country and basicaly forced people to listed to certain bands....and in the 80's there were a lot of things that had not been done yet.
