Meh, can't be true as I've sold my own copy about 3 years ago at ebay. And it just brought 8 Euros ...

Probably that was the only time it ever appeared on Ebay....I searched it so many times for years. And the only one I know in Europe sells it for 40 euros...
anyway once in 3 years is not that frequent.....

The problem of Turkey is that once an item goes out of stock/out of print it becomes nearly impossible to find it. It happened also with some turkish b-movies DVD I had to find for my italian customers. Though they were printed 1-2 years ago now they are out of print and no shops or distributors carry them anymore. The "Captain America vs Spider Man" dvd (out a couple of years ago) is out of print now and it's sold at triple the original price now. Of course by private collectors.
Unfortunately asian market (except for Japan) is like this: limited quantities and only a handful of shops who carry them (just chain bookstores or specialized rock shops: in Istanbul there is only one, by the way) and mostly there is only 1 distributor for each music/movie label all over Turkey, based in Unkapani area of Istanbul. Once copies are no more available in there, there is no chance to get them through shops because shops are supplied by these distributors who are direct emanations of music labels. And dead stocks simply disappear because they are recylced after a while to make new plastic products. No kidding. The few tapes I found were dead stocks of old music labels who do not have any more commercial activity and they try to sell last copies until they sell out everything. When I bought the Akbaba and Objektif and Yuhu tapes they said I was the only customer in 5 years buying such tapes...
Hazy Hill Cd could be found in a couple of music shops in Ankara until a couple of years ago. But my contacts in there said that nowadays is completely gone. I was lucky enough to find a guy in Bursa who had some copies left but he was the only one among HUNDREDS of contacts (internet, distributors, shops, bookstores, warehouses) I found in a 5 years research. And, believe me, apart of private collectors (I know only one who's charging 40 euros), I literally checked hundreds and hundreds of contacts in years.
Then, of course, also the Mefisto (Sweden) discography CD was available until 3-4 years ago for a reasonable price. But nowadays it is sold for no less than 100 euros. Also the Crystal Phoenix's S/T on Black Widow was easily available from 1993 until a 6/7 years ago, but try to find it now...or the dutch releases on Pseudonym Records or even the Samson CDs on Castle/Sanctuary were easily available also in italian music shops until 4/5 years ago. But now they're sold for a hell of money if you're able enough to find some private collector on Ebay who sell them.
So...things change and what was once quite easily availabe it may be not that easy nowadays. When I hear "I put 1 copy on sale a 3 years ago" it does not change the rarity of a Cd. On the contrary to know that that was the only copy appeared on Ebay in 3 years it says how difficult to find this CD may be.
I can also put on sale my original Doom's No More Pain CD....and I guess it won't appear in the following 4/5 years on sale anywhere. I know only another guy who has it on sale for 1200 euros. So? is it easy to find just because I put it on sale once? Or is it common because there is another guy from Japan that tries to sell it for ages at an astronomic price? When I sold the Rockstrata and Warfaze and In Dhaka CD from Bangladesh....how many people had it in the whole Europe? Nobody even heard of In Dhaka before, until I came across them during a 6-month research of bangla rock that was my essay on this website 1 year ago. And, believe me, I was already after the Rockstrata and Warfaze CD for YEARS after countless months of unsuccessful contacts and learning basic bangla to understand discussions on local forums. And if I didn't find them, searching and checking for no less than 3 years first in a trip to Bangladesh and then in every bangla shop in London for weeks and weeks, probably still nowadays nobody has a single copy in Europe. So rarities can be behind every corner. The chinese compilation "Zhong Huo Guo Vol.1" (with earliest metal bands from China)....unsccessful researches in hundreds of music/dvd shops all over China, in dozen of chinese provinces, in big and shitty towns. Yes, there are some on taobao (the chinese ebay) but the few sold at reasonable price are only bad cd-r copies from the original. As far as I know there is only 1 french guy living in Armenia who has an original CD copy, and he found it in 2002. You ca try on taobao....30 euros and high risk to get a cd-r or another compilation with the same name.
The Husqvarn CD from Latvia...yeah...it was available easily until a 2-3 years ago. Try to find it now....so, things changes. I wish I could get the Fuck Off's "Hell on earth" on Dark Rails when it came out in 2006. It was easily available in dozens of spanish web shops. If you want to get it nowadays, just pay 90 euros to a couple of private collectors on gemm or discogs and it's yours
