That solo in Dementia's Sexual Desire is one of my top 2 harmonized guitar solos. the other being Mein Kampf's Speeder!! solo.

Indeed these and the other Dementia are awesome! There's just something about Japan when it comes to putting a unique twist on the best parts of metal!

It's late, i know but here it is!
The 2nd LP by Sniper - Quick & Dead. from 1985.
Excellent Japanese metal. Recently i cant stop listening to this one. really catchy songs with cool lyrics. sometimes the vocals remind me of Freddy Mercury from Queen. who was listed as an influence by Kinny on the liner notes.

Awsome! Im downloading this at the moment and can't wait to hear this! Feedback will follow later.
Edit: I listened through the album and what can I say.
Well I guess you said it best "No one should have to hear this gem at 64 kbps".
Now obiously this is no 'Open The Attack' but still a great album with melodic songs that stay in your head. Something you might like to sing along. The songs are catchy without sounding too commercial and predictable. I mean can you resist that catchy riff of Break Down and I find myself enjoying singing that Speeeeed Of Light chorus.

This album don't seem to have any bad songs in my opinion. All are melodic rockers and nice break from the chaotic guitar madness of Open The Attack. Thanks for this upload!
Btw Sabbat666 which songs did you think had queen-ish vocaling?

glad ya liked it.
the opening track struck me as having queen ish vocal style.
yeah I agree its really not the same style as Open the Attack, but it is still good. although on Open the Attack they start to play Driving You Crazy Now, but it fades out.
I'm not sure what songs were from back in the day and which were newer (as these 2 albums are 2 years apart), but they certainly did a great job selecting what goes on what album.

Finally listened to the DERLANGER 7" for the first time tonight. Some of the finest Metal I've ever heard from Japan - truly fucking excellent!
Funny how you keep coming across stuff you've never considered before that totally outweights your old major wants.. (BELZEBUL, DEMENTIA etc..)
Those TABBASA demos are VERY interesting as well. Sounds like something that will grow.. A Japanese DEATH SS/Paul Chain? Just how rare is the LP btw?

The Tabbassa LP is pretty rare as far as I know. I've seen it on ebay 3 times went for anywhere from $80-$140 as far as I remember. I totally agree with it being a grower and quite twisted. I'd prefer the demos by a fairly solid margin, but the production is a bit worse than the LP, I'd imagine that quality studios with an understanding of metal aren't easy to come by in Okinawa....

Doomedplanet ytou also post on earthdog right? I'm WING on there
when my finals are over i'm gonna fill some more requests and add some of my favorites!
look out for Deathblow's CD, Jewel's Ruins of Death flexi, Medusa's demotape and flexi, Mell Rose' 1st demotape, and Astlla's LP. Astlla i dont expect many to know. but they sound like INSANE LP era Reaction! really killer band!
+ some more surprises I'm sure. I'm getting the Shella LP today at the post office. if its good i'll share! ive heard it is full of great twin guitar melodys.

yes I'm the same guy. cool you can share some rare japanese flexis with us....I need alot of them and they seem to be fairly difficult to find.
ASTLLA "Brain? No', No'! know?" is a great record, horrible cover art though!
I'm having some problem playing the Dementia mp3s for some reason, anyone else have a problem with them?

you have it with any of the other mp3s? or only dementia?
yeah it took me years to finally buy the astlla LP. i feared it was crappy rock like GD Flickers, Justy Nasty or Craze. but its great metal. very excellent guitarist in that band. and the production is pretty damn good. a lot of the older Mandrake Root LPs had pretty shitty production (like Hellen's Talon of King LP).
