Check out PAGAN ALTAR'S: LORDS OF HYPOCRISY. Epic doom/Heavy metal at its best. It won't dissapoint, I'm sure...

I don't think that Coven album is remotely proto-doom. It's an entertaining psych album, but it's not a heavy album. Jinx Dawson's internet pseudo-celebrity status just hasn't been earned.

I agree with Ernest. Nothing doomy nor heavy to be found in Coven. I didn't even like it.

I had bought the AKARMA LP reissue of COVEN many years ago expecting to hear something truly evil and dark, but it was plain boring, neither heavy nor hard even for its age. I couldn't make it through that long ritualistic track either.

I think is tremendously overrated because of the image. Is just hippie satanism, like on movies like I Drink Your Blood, but boring because at the end of the day is just hippie music, and certainly not the best. I rather listen to Dwarr, 100 times darker and heavier, even without the satanic image.

Now that you mentioned I Drink Your Blood, i can't decide which of the two is more overrated, the LP or the flick

Haha, I certainly enjoyed the movie. Hippiexplotation at it's finest. And the rabid construction workers ruled! Wouldn't say is actually a good movie though, just stupid mindless fun.

Black Widow (Sacrifice), Sir Lord Baltimore (Kingdom Come, 1970) and Atomic Rooster (Death Walks Behind You).
with the Coven I have them overhauled but to me they seem a lot doom, not metal..absolutely!however we speak about the end of the '60

Joe Hasselvander - Lady Killer.

Undertaker & His Pals is a Doom monster not to be missed. Poor production only adds to the heaviness.
