Actually, I think their German office does have some type of autonomy. I own their 20th Anniversary box set that they put out, and Slagel mentions something about The Crown being one of the first bands that the German office signed. I don't know exactly how it works, though.

Yeah, a lot of labels have different outlets throughout the world but the label itself was still founded the US. I guess the priority goes where the demand is.

It doesn't matter these days since the classic metal market is dead in USA and virtually all sales go to Europe. I know why it is done - it is to protect the European manufacturer since the US dollar is so low at the moment, even with shipping costs it is cheaper for Europeans to buy US products.

Unfortunately this means US fans would have either to wait 4+ months, or shell crazy bucks for the European import, which really sucks.
