Can previous attendees tell me more about the festival set-up, beer selection/prices, food, weather etc? I'm really quite clueless. I just know I need a tent and that you can (supposedly) bring your own beer into the stage area until 6pm..

Last year they only had one beer tent with maybe one or two different sorts available. But as people can bring their own beer to the festival area, there's hardly ever any queue. Don't think they had that much food selection either, maybe two, three different vendors. Prices were average for Sweden, which means (very) expensive beer and (slightly) expensive food. Although I'm not sure it's
that expensive compared to the UK. But around 5 euros for a beer at least.
Expect above 20 degrees Centigrade if the sun is shining, and around 10-15 degrees at night. Also, expect mosquitos. Lots of 'em.

Last year I spoke to a local while waiting for the train home, and he said that week was the most mosquito-infested they'd ever had. So it might be less severe this year.

Seriously, since I moved from northern Sweden six years ago I can't recall seeing or noticing a single mosquito, not at Muskelrock and not elsewhere. I seem to recall somebody complaining at last years festival, but seriously, it was nothing.

Just drink enough and mosquitos won't bother you. Only way to survive.

Those amateurs have never been to north Scandinavia in the late summer.
That´s mosquitos!

Look, I'm talking to our non-swede friends here. Half-immune lappjävlar need not apply.
And ask the girls in the hamburger wagon about mosquitos. The last day their arms, necks and faces were completely covered in bites. Not that it's like the outbreak of
Ochlerotatus sticticus experienced in the northern parts of this country, but hey. It's still annoying, especially if you're not used to having them around.

I should also warn about hugg-snakes, getings, bumble bees and moose. Angry, angry moose!

Those ticks are nasty buggers, specially the ones that live near moist or water areas as those bastards can carry TBE.

Thanks for the info Khnud! I owe you an overpriced beer :( One last niggling question: are there many stalls selling vinyl/cds/merch?
I can imagine the mosquitos being annoying, especially considering I don't think I've ever encountered them before. It will be bad enough dealing with 20+ degree heat when I'm used to 16 degrees in Ireland constituting a "heat wave". I start sweating even getting out of the shower so this ought to be fun!

TBE are the greatest - do they sell by mail order by any chance? (As I'm not attending this year's festival.)

About the same amount as on HOA - maybe 1 or 2 more vinyl peddlers.

DRAKAR?!
I am curious if they sing their first LP in Czech in front of Swedish crowd.
Great to see that this band recieves the cult status they deserve.
