If you have heard it half the times I had to while trying to remaster this thing, you would have loved it too. Those tunes are imprinted on my brain forever now, in all their ear-bleeding-tin-buzzing, dentalfilling-annihilating glory

Oh sure but you needed to see a big money auction on eBay to change your mind in first place ... as you didn't want to reissue it eventhough a lot of people were asking (even the band themselves)

I hope you will change your mind for Bezerker too but without an original cd press for 500$+ I don't see that coming...

Dude, the eGay antics has nothing to do with it. Just because there are some wackos willing to pay crazy cash for crappy "first press" have nothing to do with my release. I'm not going to sell it for such prices - heck, I do not even sell on eGay anymore! Nor those "it is the original first press" maniacs will be buying it, so who cares?

I didnt want to release it because the production sounds like one big nasty fart and we cannot do anything about it from the sources we are given. I changed my mind and I'm going to re-release it only because we got interesting unreleased bonus tracks and a good booklet materials to round a good packaging, which makes it worth over the uber-crappy Avanzada. And the "album" is good, albeit it is only a collection of very rough demos, not really an album per se.

It is not a question of "changing my mind" about BEZERKER, it is all matter of priorities, band availability and willingness to work with me - not just to give me some old crusty tapes and tell me "oh, go and download pictures from our gayspace page" and then disappear for months when I ask them to write small band story/liner notes, etc. As it is there are many many bands I find more interesting on personal level, and that's what Stormspell is all about - releasing bands which appeal to ME, not because some eGay trends.

And just to give you an idea how the working process with IMPACT went. I started working on this release March 2010, and 11 months later I'm still waiting on receiving all booklet materials! So you may want to think a bit next time before pointing fingers...

It's also your blame if people are willing to pay 400$ for the first press, because the 'crappy' Avanzada cd is still the ONLY one existing in the market at present day ! (except the crappy - this time for real - CDR from the band).

For the rest of the things you've said, I have nothing to add since you're not saying something different than I was implying (your tastes suck a little bit, but it's my own personal opinion).

Ps. The Impact album has a better sound than 90% of the thrash cds released until 1991, more and more if you consider that some of the songs were actually recorded in 1989 ... 'a big fart' ?!?! ...

don't worry Iordan, these guys that have never run a label don't realize how hard it is for old bands to get their shit together. Most old bands that are obscure and underground were that way for a reason, they didn't take the effort beyond the music to get their name out there, and now 20 years later after the band is long split, they will remain the same, even slower most times!

I was just listening to your Morbid Sin demos cd and got another chuckle at the liner notes. If this band had their shit together 8 years ago they would have had a nice vinyl release (and some promotion), but I asked for more material beyond the "Cauldron of Souls" demo, I was told "there is nothing else". I guess another demo and a full length album is nothing else? Sheesh.

Indeed, I just need to learn once and for all that trying to explain myself actually makes it worse

It's too bad that so many bands dick around in getting they're old material out there for the actual fans that are interested in a piece of Metal history.

My only question is, how serious are you when contacting bands for stuff to put a release together? I know it's not your job, nor should you be wasting the time to baby sit these old band members, but when do you call it quits and say enough is enough?

Either way, I would still like to see Bezerker out there one day, but regardless, the Stormspell catalogue more then makes up for a few that "got away" and who knows maybe another label has more time and patience to invest in getting the stuff needed to put something together.

It all depends on too many factors to give one unified answer. Sometimes it can take a very long time until something transpires - sometimes it happens, sometimes not. Missing band members, lost master tapes, old contractual obligations, life priorities, etc, etc.. It all matters and adds to the equations. In fact it is quite rare to find a 25yo demo band and everything to align for a fast release.

Like with IMPACT actually it wasn't so bad. We got almost everything gathered now, and big chunk of the delay transpired due internal affairs spanning back to the 80s which needed to be ironed out. So in fact this was a smooth project and Darren, Glen, and Nathan did a great job working it out with me. I have had a lot slower projects to be honest.

I'm just extra-sensitive about it right now as there are some people constantly e-mailing which cannot fathom those band members may have other priorities in life other than dropping everything and working on a release of their 20 yo demo. Really drives me crazy sometimes.

Enough is enough when you see it doesn't work, or you are not getting what you have expected I guess. I have walked on several projects on my own volition so far, and I have had several which dragged to a screeching halt or have been taken from me with nothing I could do to prevent that. I'm sure such things happen to every small label around. Life goes on :)

What I had to do was stop telling people about forthcoming releases. Only until it was done and at the pressing plant did I mention what I was working on (beyond a few friends that didn't spread rumours).

I'll never forget a perfect example of this. I was working on the Nightmare (Col) demo lp, I think I mentioned it either here or on Miskatonic forum. Ultimately it didn't happen due to a number of factors. BUT I got this email from Rainer, you could tell he wasn't happy, about "Oh why didn't you offer me this record since I specialize in Latin American Metal" Obviously someone told him about it and didn't bother to mention that it wasn't released yet...
