I can't hear anything in the new rip and if there are clicks I really don't know where they could have possibly come from since I was doing absolutely nothing on the PC while ripping the tape this time.

Never got into Forte's 1st 2 albums much, but maybe I'll give this a try. Link seems to be down this afternoon, so I'll check back

This absolutely annihilates everything I've downloaded in the past year. I must admit not remembering them at all at Thrash Assault 2008. This demo kills! Stranger than Fiction was released on LP I read on MA, true?!

Yeah, and it's not rare at all, a quite common LP.

If you are planning to get it because the demo tracks are featured there as well, I must tell you that the demo versions are totally superior, no comparison at all with the ones on the LP.

Demo versions definitely sound better than StF versions.

Interesting demo, pretty cool. Their slightly OTT style isn't exactly my cup of tea, but it's not bad either. It has a slight tech-metal vibe to it, but when they speed up the drumming becomes realy simple and repetitive, which is a tad annoying.

Can someone summarize who was in Forte vs Oliver Magnum and on which releases? I've always gotten this family tree somewhat mangled

Just James Randel who sang on the s/t OLIVER MAGNUM LP.

Don't find any of the songs repetitive myself, in fact almost all of them have that classic US metal 'build-up' and they end in the most frantic and powerful manner. Pure adrenaline-pumping stuff!

Oh, so Randal just sang on the s/t? Thanks for clearing that up.

The different songs aren't repetitive; it's just the drumming when they play really fast; he does a really simple 1-2 beat that is pretty simple (i.e., it gets repetitive very quickly). Maybe it's noticeable b/c the drums are pretty clear in the mix, so they stand out a bit.

Yes, with that I agree, the beat sounds somehow similar on most songs
