Which is the best Lordian Guard album?

I decided to revisit the albums. The first was much better than I remembered, it's good, good melodies and songs, I like it! It's not metal though. It's the second album that stinks, I can't find anything worthwhile on it, the vocals are unbearable as is the music.

Because some of my fellow countrymen, have a really soft spot for Tsamis' music.

I think greeks have a soft spot for all things greek.

I've seen stuff like Vavel, Sarissa, Trade Mark and Raw Silk all hyped and these bands are average at best...

The Summoning use digital just about everything but I love their music! I'm not sure that real drums would be a benefit here anyway...they are there to support and be humble timekeepers/worshippers of the amazing guitar lines and synthy bits. As for the vocals...well they are certainly not for everyone...but they are for me.

If you grow up with some of these albums you're surely more likely to have a soft spot...and for me Vavel's first is really good.

Yes, we Greeks can be a little too patriotic when it comes to our bands.

Regarding the bands you mentioned, I love both Trade Mark and Sarissa, because just like Zherneboh said, I was exposed to their music when I was 16-17 years old, and still consider them among my favorites.

I first listened to Vavel a couple of years ago, I respect them, but I find them hyped, and more importantly, unlistenable. As for Raw Silk, I consider their LP a solid effort, even though I am not into melodic hard rock.

However, I like and admire bands such as Flames and Vice Human, and neither of them seem to get a lot of love around these parts, despite the fact that they are pioneers.

So, I hardly am the exception that proves the rule.

On topic: The Lordian Guard albums could have been great releases, but their shortcomings are too obvious, and I cant's say that I find them "charming" in any sort of way. I can listen and enjoy the two albums, but at the same time, I shake my head in puzzlement, because of their rather unique identity, thinking that if some thing were different (flesh & blood drummer, better vocalist, "richer" sound), these two could have been awesome.

Also, I fear that Bill Tsamis may have never been that much into metal, judging by the second Warlord demo. I guess I'll never know.

I like the first one a lot even though the vocals are very flat and passionless at many points. With a better vocalist I would worship it as much as I worship the WARLORD albums. The final riff of the "Winds of Thor" is one the most epic I've ever heard in my entire life.
The second one never clicked with me, not even one single track.

Interesting, i found both albums great, really great. I listen to them a lot and i love them just like they are, with the vocals, the phony drums, the weird lyrics. perfect!

HOLY SHIT! That's tragic! I hope she's okay!

So he's a Christian Academic and Thinker now? Not too surprising given the crushing weight of faith dispayed on those albums...I clicked on the link for "probe" at the side and was greeted with the following poser:
"Is it a sin to mistreat animals?"
