Nor did I say it did but I'm sure even you've noticed that when most bands go in a more commercial direction usually the results are quite heinous. I think Black Axe certainly did try to tame their sound down to a more easy listening and melodious sound but never sold out and always made great music that was coming from the heart.Black Axe wrote:Great melodies don't equal commerciality.

Impossible for me to make such list. I mean, only from the US, the LPs/EPs/7"s that I adore are more than 200...
Many great albums on your list nontheless.

Great list full of classics. Agreed w/ Nightlock- that's a really solid list of 80s metal records that ought to please most metal fans. I think I have a Top 30 list compiled, but I don't wanna hijack your thread.
Agreed on the great, atmospheric sound of the Wolf LP.

Very cool list, with some minor changes* I could adopt it for my own.
*minor changes = replacing 20-25 albums on it

Great list Mordred. I like almost everything on it, though I'd probably include very few of those albums in my own list. Good on you for including lots of "mainstream" artists and not having obscurities just for the sake of it. Not that I think other people here would do that, but the temptation would be strong given this forum is for collectors.
If you don't mindMordred, I think I'll try to make a list too and post it here.

What can I say, that album made such a huge impact on me when I was a teen. It's not the kind of stuff I normally go for these days, but every time I hear it, it just cracks me up. Memories...omen of hate wrote:and I would have dropped that horrible "Keeper of the 7 keys Pt II" ...
I sure don't mind, I'm still shocked that anybody bothered to browse the entire list and have an opinion on it.great_knuthulhu wrote:If you don't mindMordred, I think I'll try to make a list too and post it here.
