My youngest brother's name is Tor. I think my mum quite likes him too.

Other than that, my dad likes Jim Reeves, so not much chance of any metal there.

I would add:
ARAGORN "Black Ice" (it's a killer! THE nwobhm song for me)
and
ARC "War of the Ring"
for NWOBHM stuffs
My dad digs a lot of "proto-metal" from the 70s, Flower Travellin' band, BOC, Holden, Thin Lizzy, Leafhound (from tapes I've made him) etc....might be good to copy some of that stuff for him to help him put everything into context.

Jag Panzer - Warfare
Savatage - The Dungeons Are Calling
Exodus - Exodus

These fit your requirements perfectly.

More to come when I've got more time.

'Cause you're in short of one vengeful strikin' hammer? Just a thought!

Helm: Add Shiva - Rock Lives On to your playlist. Cracks me up every time..

And how about them dads, huh? I partly thank my dad for listening to metal, as he constantly played things considered somewhat heavy when I was a kid, like Rush, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple and so on..

I remember the only music of mine my Dad liked when I was younger was 'Sisters Of Mercy-Vision Thing' ...his favorite lyric was from the opening track: "for another motherfucker in a motorcade"
haha, he freaked me out when I was 17... by then he chilled out a bit..
But I have vivid memories of him ripping up some 'evil metal' tapes of mine, after he thought I was possessed by something when I was about 15...
'Holy Terror-Mind Wars' was one of those tapes, so something from that would be what I would tape for him now! Maybe 'Damned By Judges'???
Why are a wise man & a wise guy opposites?

So far the playlist looks like

1. Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
2. Judas Priest - Dreamer Deceiver / Deceiver
3. Rainbow - Stargazer
4. Cirith Ungol - I'm Alive
5. Holocaust - Heavy Metal Mania
6. Motorhead - Ace of Spades
7. Heavy Load - The Guitar is My Sword
8. Manilla Road - Necropolis
9. Brocas Helm - Metallic Fury
10. Gotham City - Swords & Chains
11. Warlord - Black Mass
12. Omen - In The Arena
13. Mercyful Fate - Evil
14. Helloween - Victim of Fate

Of course Mercyful Fate must be on the number 13. My dad will dig the Greek island music bridge in Brocas Helm's 'Metallic Fury' (and he will finally understand why I sign my work with 'Helm'). Heavy Metal Mania will make it clear as plain day what this is about and if it doesn't, Heavy Load will. Amazing emotional highs packed in the heady early 70's era with Sabbath, Priest (on their best couple of songs for my money) and Rainbow. Then into the gutter with Motorhead so he understands the dionisian side. Warlord represent the dark side here with a tear as they were quite the white metal band otherwise, but that sort of thing is good. I think ending with 'cutting edge circa 1986' speed/proto-teutonic power metal is good.

I might swap Swords & Chains with something else NWOBHM since I don't know the lyrics to it and although I love the song, I need to know the lyrics for this. I am also debating a Scorpions song just because they've been hugely influential and amazingly catchy. But they weren't very dependable!

I would add SAMSON's "Young Idea". RIOT's "Bloodstreets" is a good one too.

Holy shit, I forgot Fates Warning - Guardian! That's how this playlist ends now!

Good god, Holocaust spell it out, huh?

"Rock n' Roll? Far too slow."

A song from ACCEPT is mandatory.

I have a problem with Udo not knowing English and just singing stuff the manager co-wrote with them about 'london leatherboys'.

Still some great stuff on Neon Knights, Winter Dreams, Aiming high etc, the '81-'86 Accept era is heavy metal in all its glory, and for that particular period Accept are and will always be a top-10 metal band for me

Who cares, it's better than most German bands that got unrelated English guys to do their lyrics in the 80's :P . Accept are a top 5 band for me, Breaker, Fast As a Shark, Neon Nights, Princess of the Dawn, Aiming High, Losing More Than You've Ever Had etc. All undoubtedly classic and much more essentual than plenty of the tracks chosen. There are a few classics but it seems a bit weak so far if you ask me :P

Need a Riot song too! Suggestion: You Burn in Me.

If you decide to put something from ACCEPT then I'd recommend "Bound To Fail"

Oh and Riot's "Bloodstreets" was a good one!
