BUSTED!!

What do think about the odds of seeing Nostradamus on vinyl? Anyone heard any rumors?

It is definitely coming out on vinyl. Looks like it's already sold out from their website. It's a special 3 LP and 2 CD box set, with 48 page book and poster.

I'm going to that gig also. Too bad I got a seat ticket :(
July 27th for me.

Regarding the track, it ain't bad at a first listen.

Already sounds better than most things on "Angel of Retribution", though the chorus may not be the most convincing one I've heard... I even like the intro and the keybardparts. What a great scream when the song takes off too.

I agree. The chorus isn't bad but nothing to write home about.. Sounds a little bit tired to me. Still a good song.

Damn not having internet let the special 3LP/2CD edition get away from me now I'm going to have to find it elsewhere!

About the new song it's pretty much what I expected from this album moving more towards an epic power metal direction that the last album hinted at with Lochness. To be honest I don't really like this or the artwork to the new album...it's just not really "Priest" I want 3 - 7 minute arse kickers about being on the road, apocalyptic monsters and heavy metal heroes not some drawn out saga about Nostradamus.

That being said I'm not happy with the direction I respect their creative freedom and think it will at least be an enjoyable listen.

I actually thought the intro was the best part and was a little let down by the actual song. The keyboards later in the song showed that they're trying to take on a more contemporary power metal sound but the rest of it is still undenyably Priest so I have no problem with that. Overall, a good song that just didn't grab me. I'm interested in getting the new album though I won't run out and get it on release day. I'll wait to hear the rest first.

I hated that track. It´s sillier than anything on Turbo or Ram it Down. It's even more stupid than Iron Maiden's Mother Russia for Beelzebub´s sake.

I can only agree with you here. Adding the (vain) hope that they some time shall return to their lyrical and musical splendour in the spirit of, say, Saints in Hell. Still, I will buy the album and I am probably going to enjoy most parts of it (better not to read or try to follow the lyrics I asume).

It would be the best thing since mercyful fates reunion in '92 in the history of Heavy Metal but sadly a little too much to hope for. :?

I feel that apart the epicness the new song could be almost a track from Painkiller. I mean the sound and style. Does everybody disagree with me about that :) :?:

I thought the exact same thing.

The guitar tone in parts is nearly identical.

Yes but no more than Judas Rising nods towards Painkiller, It's a pretty far assumption to say it's going to sound like a more epic version of A.O.R. (AOR haha). probably without the crusiey atmosphere of songs like Worth Fighting For or first pumping Deal With the Devil moments.

as far as I understood, vinyl will only be available in some "deluxe" box set, incl. 3LP and 2CD, for $$$. this would suck, don't see any reason why someone should need BOTH versions. anyone heard anything about "regular" vinyl?

It also seems you could only buy that deluxe boxset in America. 'Cause that pre-order website said they only deliver there. :?

I'd like to see a regular vinyl edition too, but I didn't read anything that said it would actually be released as such.
