Fake drums in real metal.

anyone know about Manilla Road - The Courts of Chaos? I've heard some say those were programmed but I never got a confirmation on that, if they are fake they are sure as hell still good.

The Shark has repeatedly mentioned that difficulties between Scott Parks and Randy Foxe resulted in them refusing to work in the studio together. So drums and bass are recorded separately, but certainly not faked.

Because I know they do it's been explained in many interviews with Rolf, Jorg and Stefan this is something that I'm 100% sure about I follow Running Wild almost religiously. Jorg has used triggers on every Running Wild album he's played on; Black Hand Inn, Masquerade, The Rivalry etc. They might not be as noticeable as the later drum computers Matthias uses but they for sure are fake drums.

I think it can be ok sometimes but I hate the way the crash cymbals sound a lot. I can't stand typical bad fills with drum machines either that sound like they are from a DRUM MACHINE demo cd or something.

Fake cymbals that don't ring out properly and have white sound mixed in sound terrible. I actually like the sharp fake trigger sound and don't mind fake 80's sounding "Arena" snares but fake cymbals they can really sound terrible.

oh man I hate the 80's arena snare with the reverb and the sharp gate, sounding ON TOP of the rest of the kit. The worst thing. The only part of the kit I accept to sound exactly the same every hit is the kick drum.

I think the only reason I kind of like it (not that much at all) it's part of 80's music in general.

there's many good things about 80's music. Heavy Metal of course, but also post-punk and dark wave and whatnot. But the Phil Collins snare is not. one. of. them.

the drum machine on Sarcofago's "Hate" was a little ridiculous, no one could ever possibly play drums like that in real life

The drums in The Mezmerist are definitely fake. You can hear some mechanical handclaps that come straight out of a keyboard of rhythm box.
But it's one of the only metal releases with fake drums that don't get on my nerves.

The handclaps are fake, but everything else is not.

The sound is rather warm but yet it sounds mechanical: so I'm going for 'drums = fake'
