I think you can still get METAL MASSACRE PACKAGE DEAL with Vols. 4, 5, 6, 7, 8/9 + Best Of from Sentinel Steel for $19.88.

They're all worth getting!

5 & 8 are my faves! It's all pretty ground-breaking stuff when you look back at it in hindsight.

Avoid from 9 & onwards...

4 is my favorite by far- it features great songs by relatively obscure bands.
Volumes 1-5 are all decent. After that they start to get pretty iffy; vols 6-9 tend to only have 1-2 really good tunes, although some folks liek vol 7 alot more than I do

metal massacre 2 and 8 rule the world. 2 mostly for the godlike version of lucifer's hammer and 8 for the amazing overlorde track

All the early ones are fantastic. I have the 90s CD versions of most of these and there are tons of great bands and tracks on them. I have 8 and 9 on vinyl and listened to them last night, and there are great things on both of them. The Toxik trackWasteland is indeed a minor classic.

I _really_ worship the first MM release.
Cirith Ungol, Demon Flight, Bitch and Metallica just cranks me up..
I remeber the first time I heard this Hit The Light version, wow!
Such energy by these innocent teenagers :)
