Good point. This thread always focuses on items that sell for way too much rather than way too little (i.e., no "Insane Ebay Bargains"). Jim's Heather Leather single sold for $50; a copy listed on popsike sold in 2004 for twice that (it was autographed, but based on glockose's recent thread results many people do not pay extra/pay LESS for autographed records). Towards the end of last year, many of Rattlehead14's items were not bringing any premium when compared to other online listings from recent years. Even among his listings, some items don't bring a big price.... only the items I want go for top dollar  j/k

Actually, one of Eric Sagers' copies sold for $32 a while ago. That's cheap, although he might have deliberately lowered the price for someone special. About two months ago, the price for his last remaining copies was $46, then he sold one and increased the price to $55. I was waiting for the price to drop once again (as I've sworn never to spend more than ≈ $35 on a single record), but to no avail.

Also, one guy purchased 15 copies, all at once from him last year. So I guess the market's been a bit flooded lately.

Yes, Karsten and I have some history, but shit, I got each one of these for my own personal collection for quite a bit cheaper.

I've never seen the Hammerhawk or Indestroy go for nearly that high ever before.

All Indestroy copies I witnessed on ebay.com went for something like that (OK, I only remember two :) )

thallos was the 2nd highest bidder at Hammerhawk and Indestroy auctions anyway ...

Also, Toxin went for $152.5

And I didn't know that you own the original Angel Dust (just the USDM bootleg?)

Nah, I got rid of that bootleg after finding out.

I replaced it with an original, quite some time ago...

I thought that I had posted it here in the "Recent Metal Finds" thread?

Anyways, I also had a chance at one point to buy both Toxin albums from a guy but had to turn down the deal due to other priorities at the time.

This record was re-lsisted after it didn't get a bid at £450. One to watch, although I'm guessing the reserve is something stupid.

I've seen more people listing 'archive copies' of singles lately. How can you really verify that a single, which was never in sealed packaging, has "never been played"? It may be in super-nice condition, but I'm always a bit skeptical of this claim.

And regarding the high prices on some items, there's a lot of metal vinyl up right now with ridiculous prices, we're talking prices that are double the usual high-end price. I guess the sellers are hoping for a sucker, but is it worth the bother of listing a record for 6 months, trying to get $175 for it, when you could sell it quickly for about $50?
