Yeah, that was the one I was thinking about. Two black guys there who then move on to Iron Man. No idea about the lyrics of those bands though.
About Christian messages:
Hirax
Demons - Evil Forces
"You, you will go down, down to the demons
And when you get there you'll, you'll be down in Hell"
"You must believe in me, My son
I am the Lord God the Holy One"
You, you will go down to the demons
When you get there you'll be down in Hell
Sinners are wrong, sinners are weak
Got top be strong, can not be weak
Down to the demons, down to the demons
Down to the demons!
Black is the night cooled it's the air
Prepare for Hell, get ready if you dare
Lucifer is his name, He is a liar
Hell is His home down in the fire
Evil forces, you must face the Beast
Called by the Holy One, you are the priest
You must believe in me, My son
I am the Lord God the Holy One
You must believe in me, My son
I am the Lord God the Holy One
Evil forces, you must face the Beast
Called by the Holy One, you are the priest
an excerpt from Defeat of Amalek
"Joshua fought Amalek, time came to pass
His faith God would decide if he'd live or die
Moses, Aaron and Hur held their hands up high
The sun went down, it was done, Amalek had lost"
Black Death
Fear No Evil starts with a very well known quote from the Bible, sorry I can't be more specific about that but I am totally ignorant about the whole Bible. And then, in Scream Of The Iron Messiah it's got the "I am the angel from Heaven" line. There are some other bits I could pick up but my English and memory are not that good.
and about Stone Vengeance, really? Those guys were over the top Christian!
Since their lyrics are not available online I cannot quote them, but listen to it a bit more carefully.

I should pay more attention to lyrics i guess, thanks for the samples anyway. I'm not convinced about BALCK DEATH though, they might be just a little bit too much over the top (or even comical) to be a christian band.

No one has mentioned Armada from Michigan, USA. Excellent band.

Well, I like Black Death a lot but the gospel beggining of Fear No Evil indicates that they're pretty much a Christian band to me. And if I'm not wrong Black Death is also some sort of account of a Bible story. All this from bits that I've been able to pick up from the lyrics without it being my first language so there might be misinterpretations from my part.

I know, but have you heard the lyrics from that song?
I don't remember what was it, but something gave me an impression of it being some sort of a Bible story.

I was listening to that yesterday, yeah, I think they were Christian, in their own way anyways. Probably piss off a lot of Christians with certain things as well.
I don't know how many people consider 1990 part of the 1980s, but anyways the Redeemer (Aus) album was released that year, great female-fronted Christian thrash.

I like JOSHUA "Surrender" (1986) a lot even though it is quite commercial stuff (except the outstanding "Hold on").
Need to get "The hand is quicker than the eye" (1983) record.
Anyone else into JOSHUA?

I like "Surrender" and "Intense Defense" but this is definately AOR.
It's not Metal.

I agree.
This demo is simply fantastic - unless you really detest melodic heavy metal with rather soft vocals.
By the way, it seems one of the band members has found a whole box of tapes:
