By request, nay NAGGING  of Ackex, one of the finest tape albums of the Soviet Union: Krasniy Rasvet '89

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?tyczoqucttd

That opening theme-song is the very definition of a Heavy Metal Anthem if you ask me.

And here is the "Doroga v ad" album from 1989 by the great band Princip. If you like Varvar and stuff, then this is for you...

Indeed, 100% pure Russian metal. Sadly, the rest are not as good.

Thanks for the upload.

Yeah, it's another case of the opening song just being too good, leaving you somewhat cold when hearing the rest of the material. I still like most of the songs though.

I had to "fix" Tony's upload above, just to make it easier to download. I just had to make sure more people will give this a try, coz in my ears this is one of the most special bands in this thread. Pure Pounding Epic Metal! Not the neo-classical kind we're used to from the region, but raw, primitive and HEAVY! A CCCP Doomsword? There's some great upbeat "nwobhm"-rippers in there as well. And 2 ballads (just press 'next').

Got a question: Does anyone recognize the main riff in song #5: "Juzhnyj krest"? Sounds like it's "borrowed" from something really classic, maybe Manilla Road? Or Candlemass?

Wow, this is awesome stuff. One of the best downloads of the last few months.
That riff didn't ring a bell on first listen though.

Noooochhhhh!

Maybe something like "Demon's Gate"?

Btw, the main riff of the first track reminded of BATHORY, Hammerheart era.

thanks for pointing out PRINCIP, wouldn't have known to check it amongst all the other stuff here. Really amazing in its way and I get a similar feeling from it at moments that I get from Scald, I wonder if Scald were inspired by this band? Anys sign of what the tape cover looks like?

I'm listening again to PRINCIP, it's really good stuff. Have to add that some solos are very close to the ones of Mark Shelton in the first three ("Mark of the beast" included") MR albums.

Most likely it never came w/ a cover. None of these old "tape albums" did as far as I now. The only exception I've ever seen is that "Orden Satani" tape by KM.

Since destrozer found this on some obscure Russian forum, maybe he can go back and see if there is more info on the band?
