Well, if I could afford for bidding on albums like this I wouldn`t care much about the cover being damaged.
Really? Well if you get some money let me know; I've got a wrecked car that I'd love to sell you for the same price as a new one

Maybe if one day I become rich enough to waste my money on Street Child, Warzwolf etc. I will think of your car as well
However, the the record itself looked fine and that the most important thing to me. And I don`t think the lucky winner is regreting the purchase.
I agree, that was a reasonable price for that copy. But I wouldn't pay 'full price' for a copy in that condition. For 'Full Price' you can get a copy in NM/NM, so why pay full price for a VG-/NM copy?
Granted, on Top Rarities, poor condition does not pull down the price as much as it does on a 'common' record. But I think I've seen 4 Street Child's (Street Children?

) in the past 2 years alone. So it's rare, but it's not Graf Spree rare or yellow Avatar rare or purple Black Hole rare. For those records, even if a copy isn't in top condition, people will still pay a lot for it b/c they know they probably won't see another copy for a few years. But with several Street Child copies recently offered and the nice reissue available, I don't see any reason to pay full price for a copy with that much cover damage.
And 'discount price' is relative- someone still paid over $400 for that copy even with a chunk of the cover torn off
