Careful, there's a recent batch of bootlegs of those SPV mid price Sortilege albums!!!

I add that listening to SORTILEGE albums on English language is blasphemy ! :D (The existence of these versions is already a blasphemy in itself...)

I recently got LEGIJA's S/T album on tape. With some hassle - an ebay non-paying alert because the money order took forever to arrive in the hands of the seller in Serbia-, however now things are solved and the tape is in my hands. 8)

Don’t worry I made sure to receive a picture of the matrix number on the CD before hand to ensure that this is indeed a legitimate copy.

It seems as if the entire SPV MID PRICE SERIE catalogue is being bootlegged recently. At least the more common ones that are a little bit easier to obtain.

It’s kind of sad what lengths bootleggers will go to in trying to disguise their "releases".

Thanks for the heads up though.

Ah, your from france so you're bias.

I like being able to actually understand the lyrics I listen to, that's all.

Not to mention, also coming that much closer to completing my SPV MID PRICE collection.

The bias isn't like being from France. Imagine "Battle Cry" sung in French ! That would be ridiculous too. Or "Pasaporte al infierno" sung in Russian? That would make no sense.
As for understanding lyrics, translations -along with original ones- in the booklet are the solution IMO.

To each their own.

As long as a band doesn’t totally change the language in which they sing in I'm fine with it.

As far as an English version of an album (or any other language for that matter) goes, it doesn't bother me.

If more people are able to enjoy a release because of a lyrically translated version exists, I don’t see why not.

Since we are on the topic, what do you think of ADX - Weird Visions?

It’s one of my favorites.

Turbo is another example.

Yeah, the way you can tell the bootleg is under the CD itself there are no numbers, only the title of the album!

Weird Visions isn't their best album IMO, since I prefer the rawness of Execution. In fact, I think that ADX albums were less and less better each one after another. And that's not linked with the English language. I simply think they put this not so good album in English just to try to reach the international market, and they failed like dozens of other bands did. and it was directly written in English, which isn't wrong IMO.
I simply feel that a translation hasn't the same flow than the lyrics in native language if these songs were written for native language in the first place. SORTILEGE is the best example of this. Even when one doesn't understand the original language, the flow of the lyrics isn't simply the same and the translated lyrics just sound artificial.

TURBO fared better. The Last Warrior is one of the few albums that stands it's native language counterpart. I guess they're the best counter-example to my opinion !
KRUIZ weren't far from this on their 1989 album, but in their case it seems that the songs were written for English language first, then adapted to their native one later.

My thoughts exactly. SORTILEGE's original sung in french vocals/ vocal melodies flow without the smallest problem throughout the whole song. They just fit perfectly with the instrumental part. To tell you the truth, i don't listen to the english versions anymore.
