Different question: Did anyone notice how many copies of SOLAR EAGLE are showing up receently? I know of one ebay sale, one via gemm.com and one private sale. All from the guy who runs Sonic Age Records in Greece. What happened, did he find a box with a rest stock, all sealed?

If I'm not mistaken 2 on ebay, one from faetze (also on his list) which didn't sell for $999, and the other went for a little more than a grand, won by thrasking_jp (or am I wrong and that one was Street Child ??? That auction ended a couple of months ago) ...

Are you sure it's not the same copy advertised in different places? While it's certainly rare, there were at least a couple of dozen copies tracked down back in the day.

You're right though; several copies have turned up this year; I know at least 4-5 copies have been on ebay. Even so, only 2 have sold for < $700, and at least one did sell for > $1,000. Condition has ranged from Sealed to vg++/vg++, so none of them have been worn out.

Sometimes Top Rarities show up in 'batches' like this. I think it was 2007-2008 that at least half a dozen Leather Nunns were offered for sale, but since then I've only seen 2-3. Last year 5-6 Ritual 'widow' LPs were sold; this year I haven't seen any. Heck, we saw 3 Liquid Earth auctions in less than 6 months during late '09-early '10, and there are only what, 4-5 copies known in collectors' hands? It may be that one copy sells high and some other owners see or hear about the auction, then decide to sell theirs soon after.

note- # of auctions cited herein are ones I personally saw, not copies listed on popsike. Popsike numbers may differ; I may have missed some copies, but popsike may not have archived every copy I saw.

Thanks Alan, you're a perfect observer, i think you should work for popsike and collectors-weekly so that they don't miss out on anything.

I sent a message to the greek seller if he wants to sell more copies and see what he says. Took a gamble and ordered one already two weeks ago and got it yesterday for a good price. And yes, I opended the sealing this time to be 100% sure everything's alright, haha.
