...and after adding the 3 last missing Mexican Metal comps to the Compilopedia, here's the very last(?) missing Malaysian/SIngapore Metal comp vinyl:

It's genuinely crazy how many bands there were and how they ALL could play/sing so well! Like the whole scene was wished upon a Monkey's Paw by a fan of Swedish/Japanese metal who wished for consistently good singers hah. There's been an influx of these on Spotify since I last checked. I had a playlist with about 70 metal tracks picked out and just for fun I went on a little spree just browsing recommended artists and adding songs and it frankly just never ended, suddenly the playlist was 300 tracks of power/speed/heavy songs and I had to just step away.

You should know better than to say such things DaN. For your hubris you can surely expect a dozen previously unknown hens-teeth rare Malay/Singaporean comps to come to your attention any second now.

At the very least, check out the main sampler.
Enjoy!

Holy crap! Huge and meticulous work!!! Thank you very much!
Personally i am a little done with those, because i' can't stand these ballads anymore. But i still need the SAHARA - Jawapan LP, but now, after your praise it wil become even harder to get a copy! :D

Cool u liked :)

It's quite a unique scene, with all the shit ballads and all-styles-at-once approach, but since the scene is so huge it also means there are loads of great HM gems hidded on these albums - hence the guide. I also added YouTube-links to every entry for convenience..

That could solve the problem! :D

They can put a man on the moon, but...

That special bar I featured in all album slots kinda serves as a guide for this purpouse though. Was that too weird btw? Too 'autistic'? Made perfect sense to me...

Nono! It's perfect! Much better that I could expect! If I had a turntable with skip function I could even Programm the songs to skip! :D

DaN, i've barely dipped my toe into this feature so far, but i can already see it's due a huge doff of the hat for it's scope, completeness & attention to detail. Fantastic work.
Kudos are also due to you for the line, "shave off the layer of corporate bullshit", which put a huge grin on my face & reminded me again of your similarly memorable advice that, "It's just that rotten peel of you-know-what that needs removing - the Metal fruit within is JUICY!" :D

Ha! *blushing*...
Writing kilometers of text for a too-big-for-comfort feature and also desperately trying to not repeat yourself, I guess your stupid brain eventually/randomly come up with some clever stuff

Looking forward to hear some feedback on the samplers btw + also the Kingdom In Rock upload (lookin' at u Graham  )

When time allows i'll be sure to do so, but so far i've not had time to hear a note of these new uploads as i'm currently wading through a bunch of recent purchases whilst also attempting to put together the next episode of COTU.

DaN, I admit I only cast a look at the article, but I am already pleased that you included broader social and political context into the text. It will be a joy to read, whenever the time allows. Whole article looks awesome, as always.

Thanx Nenad! I actually had a longer intro originally, but when later comparing it to the Wikipedia article I realized mine was quite clueless and poorly sourced, and the linked Wiki article explained the Rock Kapak phenomenon way better.
In the end it's mostly a guide to what to check out from this scene and what not to.

Hot tip: Just about every 2nd+ album will include at least one killer tune, and with the YT links ready & available you can have a pretty cool evening of 99% undiscovered Exotic Metal Safari 8)
