lamia is a placeholder until i can find any of their material that was recorded in the 80s, if any exists - i've never been able to get a definite answer either way. i wanted to make 89 the cutoff date, maybe in several years if i'm up to it i would do a sequel of bands from 90 - 95, but thats certainly not any time soon

High Altitude (UK)"Mountain" 7"EP 1986
could be of interest perhaps. A benefit 7" sung by several vocalists but Sara Austin of Northern Sky did the main (almost all) vocal parts. Nice Heavy Rock.

Inner Rage (US)"Metal overload" Flexi 7"EP 1986
Power/Speed Metal from New York!

If you like Black Virgin....
But the songs sung by the male singer are definitely more evil sounding!

cool thanks! the inner rage looks interesting, in that flexi came with a noise rock magazine "Your Flesh" issue #12... the other bands featured in the magazine:

• Pussy Galore
• Halo of Flies
• Hickoids
• Sonic Youth
• Vile
• Kilslug
• Television Before Christ
• Beer Jumbo

would definitely make inner rage the odd (wo)man out!

I know...I got the Flexi without the Mag and after I read what bands are featured inside the Magazine I was more than happy!
Inner Rage is typical in your face New York steel.

I also recieved some old Ferat (Cze) demos today and some of these songs from 1987 were sung by a chick (judging by the name) I think. I need to listen first coz I've recieved a shitload of czech demos today and hadn't time to hear them all yet.

that one sounds pretty interesting... im actually kind of surprised there weren't more czech and polish bands on here as both countries had pretty strong and interesting underground scenes

It's as I said, on the first Ferat demo (sounds like a Reh/Demo) there a 2 songs sung by Dana Jelinkova and on the "Tak vstavej" Demo (from 87 too) is another track sung by her. Cool Power/Thrash Metal.
Another cool female fronted czech Speed Metal band was Argus but they won't fit into your collection since they released their demos after 1989. But worth to be checked out. They really kicked ass!

Ferat Demos can be ordered here:

Yes, try the e-mail address. I didn't order my stuff from this address since I have a czech friend who's organizing all the stuff for "better prices"...
But the Underground Record's guy should reply. MANY awesome czech Death/Thrash demos he put out recently...but his prices are a bit over the limit for czech conditions...I needed two months to pay all that stuff my czech friend had ordered for me!
The Argus demos can be found in the www I'm sure. I've ripped em all a few years ago. They should have made their way thru thje blogspot scene by now...

I'm confused. Why would you think that Chris wasn't female?
