Good thing I haven't ordered any of their releases then. I noticed there wasn't any news about the release from Gaskin. They should probably warn the fans though.

I'll avoid.

If the label owns the rights, the band don't have a say and the label license it where they want. Krescendo as far as I can make out are licensing from the parent labels.

All British Steel releases were official and licensed from either bands or labels (I know this as I worked for the parent label and worked with the guy that ran British Steel). For example; Cherry Red Records own Rondelet music so they own outright the first 2 Gaskin albums.

Isn't there some Royalty Law that states that if a Band isn't paid in over 20 years the rights revert back to the Band?

Not that I'm aware of? It all depends on the original contract, who owns the masters, who paid for the recording etc.

there has been a recent (2009) CD reissue of HEAVY LOADs Full Speed at High Level on "Flawed Gems" (referred to on ebay as "Flamed Gems" frequently  ) which seems to be legit but I can't find much online about it.
does anyone know anything about that? would be happy to postpone my hunt for an original non-boot vinyl for a while..

Hmm, I haven't heard anything about this yet.

As far as I know, Heavy Load wasn't too keen on the idea to re-issue thier back catalogue, as was stated in an interview I read a while back "Are fans interested in the music or a piece of plastic?".

That does seem a little suspicious. Has anyone ever heard of the Flawed Gems label? I haven't.

seems to be a label specialised on psych/ prog reissues mainly.. whether that "reissue" thing is a trustworthy one is the question :?

this is FSaHL btw: http://www.musik-sammler.de/media/394232

It's also listed under "bootlegs" though, so who knows...

That one should be top of somebody's list, yeah. I love what I've heard of them and would dearly love to hear more.
