I tried on their myspace port. it says: loading error. What's the music of this band like? On the quality level of its influences?

Are they doing this for fun? I hope so because HP must be one the lamest metal bands i've ever heard. "Nwobhm-ish" swedish metal is what they play.

GRRREAT band & great guys. Musically I think they capture the obscure 80's Metal feel better than most bands these days. And no, they're NOT another joke band doing the "ha-ha-let's-play-corny-80's-metal-for-a-laff" thing again. Trust me, these guys are taking Metal more serious than just about anyone I know.

Yeah, awesome group just as Dan said! I suggest that all of you order their new (and only) 7'' single. I got my copy this week and it totally kills. I believe you can do this at http://www.anger-of-metal.de for 5 Euros + postage.

Well, I don't know. It didn't came up until now, I guess. Helvetets Port means Hell's Gate.

Killer band as far as songwriting and spirit goes.
I got their 7" a few days ago and it's really pleasant. The highlight is Tomas' and Oscar's little chat after "Hårdrockens Förkämpe".

What a band!I think Helvetets Port is the definition of old devoted Heavy Metal of nowadays by an after 2000 formed band.Damn i can't find their single in shops so i will wait for their full length.At least i have heard their songs on Myspace.Helvetets Port the Gates Of Hell!!!

I have spent alot of time with the guys from HP this winter helping them to record their full-length album. The new songs are fantastic and they blow the material from the single away totally! check out their myspace again and you can here two songs from this new recordings.

And why?

Because they play 80´s metal nowadays with devotion to the old spirit?Is that wrong to you i don´t understand you?I don´t understand that people think that if someone playes and has image like 80´s is lame.I adore personally Helvetets Port and although i am not a NWOBHM fan i dig their songs.I am thinking about the same a 80´s total band but problems still remain

1) I don't give a shit about image.
2) I don't listen to new modern bands, just in case you implied that.
3) 95% of the newer bands that try to revive 80s metal spirit are fuckin' boring and sometimes even hilarious. I don't listen to them either. A few exceptions exist though.
4) Don't have a problem with HP's image. Don't have a problem with their musical intentions either. However i do have a problem with the quality of their music. I find it uninspired, unoriginal and the vocals are just bad (and they were even worse at their demos). i don't know what else it needs to avoid listening to a band, HP's features are enough for me in any case.
5) That's only my opinion. Maybe it sounds strange, maybe it sounds funny but that's it. I'm not asking you or anyone else to accept it, but i reserve the right to have my own thoughts/beliefs/whatever you call them.
