Sweet Savage Links
Was someone looking for links to some of the cdr's made by Trev...? There's a ton of Sweet Savage links recently posted on the Lockjaw blog. I don't know what the bit rate is

I have the Official Bootleg one. I *think* the live stuff is also on the other cdr's (the hammersmith live 81 set maybe). The rehearsal stuff is listed form 1979 and I *think* it is not on the other discs. I'll try to u/l it for you tomorrow and add it to this thread. TMK Trev is not selling these anymore, so I guess it's OK. MODS: if you think it's not ok, let me know and I won't post it.jnfernal wrote:yeah, i've got all of them several months ago, already from John Stradinger.. but i can't find the other 3 cd-r.. "Official Bootleg" (with old rehearsals and live stuff). "All that remains" and "Ground zero"... i ordered them through myspace and some jap distos but they are sold out

thanks a lot! i found a japanese who would sell to me that "Official bootleg" but charged me 70 US$ and 70 US$ for a cd-r seems too much..
The Official Bootleg should contain the same live gig Hammersmith 1981, published on the "Take no prisoner" bootleg cd. I don't know if soundwise are the same. The version published on "Take no prisoner" has a bad sound..
Thanks anyway for your help!!

$70?! Ouch! That better come with coupons!
Official Bootleg:
DivShare File - Official Bootleg.zip
Tracks 1-6 recorded ca 1979 on a 4-track w/ a single mic.
Tracks 7-17 recorded on a 4-track ca 1981 on the Thin Lizzy Renegade Tour.
The live set is also available on the 'Take No Prisoners' Fan Club CD where it's listed as 'Hammesmith London'. Based on a VERY quick comparison, I think it's the exact same recording with the same, low sound quality. TnP lists the 3rd-from-last track as 'Bottle of Wine', whereas OB lists it as 'Ground Zero', but it's the same song
If there are any issues with the link just let me know
I've been trying to sort out what recordings are on which discs among those Trev cdr collections. Nothing like comparing 8 versions of 'Eye of the Storm' trying to figure out which are identical and which are slightly different- I'm flashing back on sorting Pentagram bootlegs a few years ago
The stuff on 'Lost Recordings' is all available on other discs, primarily the 'Radio Times' disc, and RT has better sound IMO.

i owe you a millions of thanks! Yes, the live set is the same as the TnP bootleg, but it seems the only live recording of that period, except for the FM recordings posted on yappy's blog (one of good quality but unfortunately not complete, and the others in horrible quality). Same issue here, man, i'm trying to put in order all their recordings but it's beyond me, for the cd-r do not have any detailed recording date. There are at least 4 different versions of "Eye of the storm", some with different intros and even different tempos. The BBC session that floats on the internet seems to have some songs (at least 2) never published on Radio Times and Lost recordings. Also, the version you can (could?) download from their web site is slightly different... Even the version of "killing time" present on the BBC session (the one that you can find everywhere on the net) is not on Trev's cd-r (it has a different intro). However, in a few days i shall be able to sort all of them out. I am doing the same with the various Death/Mantas recordings, and i swear you need the patience of a saint to do that hahah. Sweet Savage are none the less. You mention other Trev's cd'r recordings... i think i have all (at least all posted by Stradinger on Yappy's -that i own original- and your Official Bootleg) except "All that remains" and Ground Zero. Do you happen to have them, as well as some other cd-r not posted on Yappy? Don't know if the songs contained on these 2 cd-r are the same versions published elsewhere...
Again, big thanks!

Glad to help! Sorry, but I don't have the other cdr's you mentioned. I remember seeing Trev list them on ebay, but with shipping to the US they were a bit pricey, and as we both know it was hard to tell if the discs contained the same stuff or not.
If you develop a guide to the Sweet Savage discs I'd love to see it. I'm working on one myself but it's slow going and I just don't have much time to spend on it. Like you said, it requires a lot of time and patience! If I get a reasonable one assembled I'll let you know and we can perhaps compare notes.

Cool!jnfernal wrote:good news, i shall receive the other 2 eps, "All that Remains" and "Ground Zero" within 10-15 days. Once listened, i shall be able to make an "ultimate" Sweet savage discography (or so wish i)
I made some progress on my discography during the holidays. If you want to compare notes, pm me and I'll be glad to send you my notes.

Thanks for the link. It could very well be the same recording, or from one of the other three dates, as Thin Lizzy played at the Hammersmith on four dates from the 25th through the 28th of November on the 1981 Renegade tour.nightsblood wrote:Tracks 1-6 recorded ca 1979 on a 4-track w/ a single mic.
