Record stores in Italy

Post by Snusmumriken »

I'll be visiting Italy soon enough and was wondering if there are any metal record stores worth checking out in Rome, Venice, Verona or Bolzano. I did some research myself and came up with a few names, especially one place that has some NWOBHM finds up for sale, but I'd like to get more recommendations if possible.

Thanks in advance.

mmm....if you go to Florence, you can visit this store:

-Super Records, Via Dei Neri (forgot the civic number)

it's in the historical centre of the town, behing Uffizi Museum

or this one too:

-Rock Bottom, Via Degli Alfani

that is not so far from the Super Records store, in the University area

they have a lot of old vynil for sale

In Milan, you can go to Soundcave, but they have a lot of shitty black metal for sale, mainly

Super Records has some good stuff, but beware of the prices. They have a webshop too, if it still exists.

Eheh, they have some financial problems, so it's easy to bargain the price...a couple of weeks ago they had a special promotion: 1 CD for 1 euro....

I know they still have a Strana Officina Box Set for 20 euro, that is a good price

On March 2010 I plan to visit Italy.
I'll be in Barletta city for 5-6 days, still don't know if i can go somewhere else... I know it's a bit early but are there any records shops or any metal live shows taking place in Barletta? Thanks in advance

I know there aren't many Italians here, but I hope someone can help on this one: are there any good places to shop for records in Venice or Verona? Going next year.

There are a lot of records stores in Italy, let me know exactly where are you going to,remember that many stores are not into metal,i will give you the best tips if possible(i don't know them all personally  );it's also possible to search them on line by using this site http://www.paginegialle.it, in the home page you will find "RICERCA"(SEARCH),fill "COSA"(it is the field that defines WHAT are you searching for ,write simply DISCHI in it),then fill "DOVE"(WHERE are you searching for)with the name of the city or the italian region, for example BARLETTA (and you will find the record stores of this city),or PUGLIA and you will find all the record stores of this region where Barletta is located,of course if you can travel it is always better to put in the Region, then push the button "TROVA"(FIND).

P.S. even if many stores are not into metal it's always possible to buy very rare metal and hard rock/prog stuff(italian or not)for cheap prices, sometimes they don't know what they are selling and have large stocks of vinyl(with few but very rare items, especially in the south of Italy)

I just saw you are also interested in live gigs, unfortunately Puglia is not the best for metal events(especially in winter/spring),at the moment there are very few events scheduled for March 2010,look at http://www.myspace.com/gowestsaloon Mike Terrana will make a clinic on thursday 11th of March, and Andy Timmons on thursday 18th of march, the location is in Roccaforzata(in the province of Taranto, there are 163 km by car from Barletta);I will tell you if something else comes up,ok?

Hey, thanks for trying to help, but that search didn't really provide the things I'd hoped for. The first result I got looks to be a strip tease joint  .

Do you know anything about record stores (vinyl) in Verona and/or Venice?

That's why filling WHAT fields with DISCHI it gives you not only records shop but also Dancing and DiscoPub mixed together  ,so,to distinguish them after finding the results you have to look at the bottom of the results,if you read "Categoria: Locali e ritrovi - discoteche (dischi) " this is a dancing club,if you read "Categoria: Compact disc, dischi e musicassette - vendita al dettaglio " you found a recod shop(some of them have a web site listed on the result ,simply click on WWW and you'll be redirected on it!)
