The ICEBERG lp really exists?!?roihlem wrote:Another very obscure album must be the Iceberg LP. I know just one person that has it...Anyone listened to it?
While we are on Bulgarian Metal, is the Era/ Konkurent LP good? I am expecting it these days...

Are you 100% sure? Have you actually seen the copy in question?
The ERA/KONKURENT split is a nice one, but the ER MALAK (post-Era) is waaay better. The best Metal album from Bulgaria, AHAT being a close second.
I never saw it but in the book "Heavy Metal Aus Osteuropa" Stefan Riermeier (from Karthago Records) wrote a review about that LP and he stated that the cover of the LP is totally untypical for a Metal release. According to that review the cover shows a walnut with a finger pointing on it. So I guess he has this release.DaN wrote: The ICEBERG lp really exists?!?![]()

He also wrote that there exists a 2nd Iceberg LP that just one person once had, but he cannot remember the title and the year of the release. I only know about the "Heretic" album and if I am not wrong it exists on tape only.
I guess stormspell knows more about it...

As far as I know it does not exist. I spoke to Ivan Ainadjiiski last summer and he didn't know anything about it. This walnut-and-finger LP could be some different Iceberg, or compilation, or something.DaN wrote:The ICEBERG lp really exists?!?roihlem wrote:Another very obscure album must be the Iceberg LP. By the way here is the new band of Ivan, which is quite good classic metal, somewhat SAXON influenced.

on archives writes "described as Italy's answer to Tank"and it is something like that. i have that record but i don't like it much... (i don't say it isn't good, but mine favourite genre isn't what this record is about)Cochino wrote:I've always wanted to hear this one

Stormspell here is the line up of the Iceberg that was written in that book...Hope this helps you to identify if this is the same Iceberg?stormspell wrote:As far as I know it does not exist. In this review is written, that hardly anybody knows about this LP and that the music is melodic 80s Heavy Metal with occasional epic touches...
I`ve asked Stefan if he can send me a picture of the cover, but he cannot answer emails for a week or two...In case he sends me, I will put it on the forum...

"Translation" : Maybe the only one band from Ihtiman (Town) which do not got proper national success.Най-вероятно единствената рок-група от Ихтиман, която е получила национална известност
P.S anyway Stormspell translate this text in proper way

In Bulgaria it was was the same: the band had to sing in Bulgarian and to have a keyboards among other things in order to be allowed to apply for permit. If allowed you went to a special commission which examined your performance and issued permit.deathster wrote:During Soviet times bands here needed to have permission to make public gigs, so they performed in front of "court" and if you had the "right "songs then you got permission for live gigs, but in many cases rock bands did not get the licence to play live. It was like that even in 1986/87 , after it went more easy.

Alright, the guitar players are the same dudes from the late 80s/early 90s. I don't recognize the other names. Perhaps it is some early stuff unrelated to their metal period. Like Kruiz or something.roihlem wrote:Stormspell here is the line up of the Iceberg that was written in that book...Hope this helps you to identify if this is the same Iceberg?
