black hole - demos
not sure if these three demos were originally supposed to be one or were three separate recordings or what (i've heard conflicting sources), but here they are:

in that case, i'm assuming they recorded it on one of those blank 90 minute cassettes and just recorded until both sides were filled?DaN wrote:These are all from the same demo: "Beyond The Gravestone" from '84 - a masterpiece! I'll listen to them properly at home and see if something's missing or if there's any different versions included..

Probably. The playing time is just under 90 minutes. I'm uploading the 1983 demo at this very moment btw.khiijol wrote:in that case, i'm assuming they recorded it on one of those blank 90 minute cassettes and just recorded until both sides were filled?DaN wrote:These are all from the same demo: "Beyond The Gravestone" from '84 - a masterpiece! Here's the BLACK HOLE debut demo from '83. I've come across various other versions in circulation, one of which even includes 2 trax by another unknown bands quite similar in style. This should be the real thing though.

Sorry, I was in a hurry when posting the '83 demo. The password is: www.thecorroseum.com
Maybe I'll post those 2 tracks by the "mystery-band" which came intermixed with this demo, just to see if someone can figure out who they were. Gotta search 'em out..
And I listened to the demo that khiijol posted in the OP at home and it's from the same source as my copy, only I separated some intros and interludes as separate trax + removed some background noise. The quality is basically the same though.

Here's my own "remaster" of the Beyond The Gravestone demo 84. This is basically Rob/DoomedPlanet's old rip from Miskatonic (that khiijol later uploaded in this thread), where I removed some background noise, cut up the songs into 15 separate tracks and did some minor tweaking with CoolEdit's parametric equalizer.
This is not only the greatest Doom Metal demo of all time but it definitely belongs in the top-5 of Most Important Heavy Metal Demos Ever Recorded. Just so you know.
