one of the best cds King put out is PRIME EVIL "Unearthed" on 'battlezone records" label. Top class metal, nice packaging, great sound, but the ironic think it NOWHERE on the cd is it mentioned that King released this, he just gets a mention in the thank you list. Why is this King? strange to me, what else is out on this label?

Ion-
Good point that not all legit releases are high quality in all aspects (and that's all I meant by 'professional grade', that a cd has a really nice booklet with lots of lyrics, pictures, etc and that the disc is mastered from original tapes rather than from vinyl or other secondary sources.... as opposed to an 'unprofessionl' release like so many of the russian and greek bootlegs currently out there).

Re: "why no bonus tracks on the Witch Cross?"... I don't think King had access to usable copies of the demos at the time. I got a cdr copy of the WC demos about 5 years ago, and I think (I may be wrong here) that I made a copy for King because he either didn't have copies, or his copies were cassette-only and the sound quality was really poor. It's hard to believe, but not even King owns every metal release :)

ION BRITTON wrote:A legit release doesn't always mean that it will be top-notch. We all know that and the examples are too many.

But if a release has indeed high quality on every possible aspect, personally i am willing to support it even if the total cost raises much more than the usual. Also, i don't understand the term ''professional grade" on metal, passion, dedication and hard work are the only things i see.
For some bands there's just not documentation and no one with original recordings or pictures is available to contribute.
That's true. On the other hand, i own three Witchcross demos and their 7". I didn't see not even one bonus track on the CD reissue, why?

Always wanting a pressing available isn't realistic at all. I wish OPM's IRON CROSS DLP was still available as i didn't have the money to buy it when it came out. I missed it and it was my fault. It's out of print now and the story is over, no point complaining about the small quantity or whatever. That was the best they could do and it was my mistake i didn't buy it when i should have. I accept that fact and only hope for a 2nd legit reissue in the near future, that's all i can do.

me and alex are talking now about witchcross, no one has the rights. not him/the band/the label/no one!
and NO ONE HAS THE MASTERS! there is only the lp, and i admit the witchcross was very poor (one of o.m.r worst) the first time around. very very poor one page print! the sound was bad due to a cd plant error and a bad record someone took it from.
keltic records put it back out and added demos, so it's better. but me and alex hope to make the best version in 2008!
i'd love to put lyrics, demo tracks, live stuff, etc etc

either way alex was happy and fine someone cared enough to put it out on cd. but we all want the TOP NOTCH FINAL VERSION to surface
:)

well prime evil needed help to put it out, so i did! it wasn't 'old metal' to me, so i started a heavier' old school label for it 'battlezone'! the only other release is BIOVORE 'SCIENTIFIC PROOF', which is more like freaked out voivod meets old early punk.

p.s sad iron rules!!!

what it was i had the tunes but they all wouldn't fit on the cd so i scrapped all idea of it as to not get only a few! i had done that with griffin and it 'irked' me forever afterwards haha

you did make me a copy, your sound was a tad bit better!
always looking to upgrade sound quality on the classic tracks!

NEXT OUT ON OLD METAL
rat attack 'rat attack' cd with bonus live tracks! me and tom from the band are assembling it now!

FAST GET AWAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Wow, To be completely honest with this topic i didnt know King Fowley was behind this label, and sure i thought they have a poor production...

Personally, i own two of his releases: Laaz Rockit-Annihilation Principle and Cities-Annihilation Absolute (thanks Ray from PR) and i think its a good opportunity for younger metal fans to get/buy the music (im against downloading albums) no matter what quality you get it, at least is not a cdr, and you got it fully printed and maybe the lyrics...no matter if its lp,tape or cd, first pressing or a re-released edition, i have to get it for my colletion, if its old metal recs. then, let it be done ha! :)

so i think i have to thank you King for those two i bought hehe, i also have the last Deceased album and i think its interesting too...BTW WHERE CAN I BUY YOUR "OCTOBER 31-THE FIRE AWAITS YOU"?

Nobody who knows King's carreer should suspect him of doing this for the money.
BTW King, if you read this, I'm the guy from Mortado 'zine. My partner is supposed to mail your copy this week, or after the holidays.
