Dave Mustaine's PANIC

Post by Kelly »

Does anyone in here know anything about this band Panic that Mustaine had way before he created Megadeth?
Without evil there could be no good so it must be good to be evil sometimes.

I found this following a short search on the internet (on some sort of Wikipedia clone):
The band that Dave Mustaine was in before he formed Megadeth. The band was created in 1981. It was all chance because all the members were at a place called Slymickers watching another thrash metal band named Metal Might. Lead singer of Panic Charles Gooduson was talking with Dave Mustaine about if he was in a band or not and if he wanted to form one. They had a few drinks and Charles introduced Dave to his good friend Michael Vanhortton. From then the band Panic was formed. The band came to an end when several members died in a car accident (Mustaine was not involved in it).
No recordings of this band exist outside of bootlegs, although Dave Mustaine wrote a drum beat while he was in this band that was later used in the song Rust in peace... Polaris.
So there might be a bootleg

Yeah, in an interview I read, he said that one of the Megadeth songs was actually written for Panic, I think it was Mechanix, which main riff was "stolen" by Metallica to use it in the song Four Horsemen.
