Here's a quick question for the people that own the LP version of this album - were the lyrics included? I only have the cassette version (better than nothing, I guess), and there's no info at all in it. It's a great album, and I'd really like to see the lyrics if they were ever released.

I have a hard time believing that the lyrics aren't online somewhere. Everything's on the internet.

I'm pretty sure there's no version w/ lyrics or inserts. I bought mine still sealed, and none of the other copies I've seen had lyrics, plus Grudge were a really cheap budget label so I'm sure they never bothered with much extras on their releases.

Indeed a great album btw. I heard a rumour that it's actually Jack Starr who's behind it. Can anyone confirm this?

Interesting... if it really is Jack Starr, then none of his other projects that I've heard have even come close to this album. It's so weird (for lack of a better word) that it's absolutely awesome.

I did manage to find the website of the guy that did the cover art for that album, though:

I've been tempted to e-mail and see if he has any info on the band, but I haven't felt like being that big of a stalker yet.

This really needs a proper CD release, though. I heard about a bootleg going around a while ago, but I don't know much about it.

I bought a sealed copy and a promo copy. Neither came with lyrics.

Is it just me or does this LP have a lot of MERCYFUL FATE/CAPTAIN BEYOND attitude in the way it approaches its riffing and soloing? The way the solo glides over the riff when the intro riff returns in the first song is very "Dangerous Meeting" to my ears.

not just you my friend.... total MF worship to me. This is a great album, and to clarify even more; my LP was still sealed as well w/o lyrics

My belief is Lords of the Crimson Alliance is actually Jamie Laritz (Grudge / Crack the Sky). Drums I hears as programmed or at very least electronic.

Don't have the lyrics either. I've never heard anyone mentioning Jack Starr as related to LotA, but I suppose he could've been involved. He was in the same area anyway. I believe someone from the band Grudge was involved in the album though, as the label was theirs and as far as I know the real names of the musicians were never given away.

I've also heard the Grudge rumor associated w/ this album; musically they do sound very similar at times, though I've only heard the Grudge LP once. I bought a sealed copy years ago and there were no lyrics on the inner sleeve and no insert. Decent album but it wore out its welcome rather quickly, mainly due to the very shrill vocals. I would agree that there's plenty of Mercyful Fate worship on display, which isn't a bad thing

Yeah, I really think this is the case. The weird production, especially on the guitars and drums, is extremely similar, and there's some similarities in songwriting at points, although I think the Grudge LP is mostly crap.
