'kit, as you have been forecasting, I had to log out in order to listen again to this masterpiece, seems I had even less credit there.

Anyhow, I managed to listen to it again and I am totally convinced this is the best episode so far, surpassing even the first one. I feel astonished regarding your erudite knowledge of the field. This ...
Banjo & Sullivan are actually a fictitious country duo who were characters in 'The Devil's Rejects' a film directed by Rob Zombie.
Rob got Country artist Jesse Dayton to record a bunch of songs as B&J for prospective use on the film's soundtrack but they turned out so well that they ultimately recorded & released all the B&J recordings as a standalone album. Zombie was so taken with the project that he even designed the album art for it.
The album's really good if you enjoy country music, with several stand-out songs such as the excellently titled 'I'm At Home Getting Hammered (While She's Out Getting Nailed)', 'Killer...', 'Dick Soup' & a countyfied version of Skynyrd's 'Freebird'.
I knew Dayton had worked in a variety of different musical styles over a number of years, (including some contributions to Supersuckers records), but i only recently discovered that he was the guitarist in Madd Hatter, the Texan Heavy Metal band who released a sought after S/T LP in 1985.
Who'd have guessed that a guy known primarily for country music could link Rob Zombie, Supersuckers & Madd Hatter? It's a crazy ole world.
... is simply fantastic. Wish I could come to such discoveries.

I agree with everything you replied throughout the thread, for example that SLADE's BBC recordings blows off the album versions easily. This Luv Machine is from Barbados, so to say, right? Is there indeed a band from New Zealand with the same name or is it just miscredited with New Zealand? Some things seem to be so rare, they are not even listed within RYM (Pleasurepain, Mitchell) and that Stallion Demo seems not to be a part of EM/MA discography.

I think I have listened very thoroughly, and I'd say I miss a title for at least one snippet. For me it gets out of sync some time after CURVED AIR. Am also wondering, is that Vincent Price outtake from Witchfinder General? And there's part of reading of 'The Raven' by E. A. Poe. As usual I'd ask for the rest of verbal ingredients. And before long, I'll probably have to ask you about uploading this edition on MEGA. Huge Cheers!

And yeah, happy Halloween y'all!
I am ... the One you warned me of

Good to know that works as a way to get round their limits.

Thanks for the kind words Nenad. I'll take that as high praise indeed as i know you really enjoyed the 1st episode. As you can imagine, it took quite some time to put it all together, (in fact i began doing so back in April), so it's gratifying to hear that my efforts brought a smile to your ears.

Yeah, Luv Machine were originally from Barbados but they later relocated to the UK, eventually picking up some English members. I think the NZ confusion arose from the fact that the album was only originally released in several scattered locales, (NZ, Italy, Venezuela & France), so in the pre-internet era people seemed to assume that they were Kiwis, possibly because of the Anglo sounding names of the members.
Pleasurepain were friends of mine back in the day, (in fact they borrowed the guitarist & drummer from my then-band for the recording of their only EP).
We played a lot of gigs with them in the early 90's & they had some great songs.
The bassist & singer resurrected the name a few years back and recorded an album, but the music's all electronic now & it sounded very little like the band of yore.
You can find the Mitchell album as a free download on bandcamp if acoustic Misfits covers are your thing:

Yeah, the Stallion demo may not fit with MA's increasingly revisionist definition of what constitutes Metal these days. Fuck those guys.

There are two Vincent Price samples in the mix, one is from the recording session for Michael Jackson's 'Thrller', the other from one of his own albums. This one i think:
https://www.discogs.com/master/881036-V ... Demonology The reading of Poe's 'The Raven' came from an audiobook i found on the Internet Archive site, but i don't recall which one specifically. There's a lot of Poe on there.
Hope this answers most of your questions & a belated Happy Halloween to you too my friend.
