Cerberus - Trójska vojna - soon to be released!
There are still unreleased gems out there, totally forgotten, unknown by anyone...
Please pay attention to slovakian progressive Power/Speed/Thrash hopefuls Cerberus from Bratislava, born in 1985, who've been about to record their debut concept album (a Metal opera would fit better) "Trójska vojna" (Trojan War) during 1990/91, but run into the political change inside the CSSR, which due to the collapsing Opus record company caused the album was never finished, even though the vinyl sleeves had been printed already. Almost 30 years later one member of the band found the files of the old unfinished rough mix in slovakian broadcast archives and the reactivated band tried to produce an album but got stopped by the lovely chinese "gift" Corona. A studio produced a privately made CD (about 80 digipack copies made) with newly recorded extra trax (that though aren't Cerberus songs at all), but yet it naturally remained overlooked. Knightstalker Records got in touch with Miroslav Lustig, the main songwriter and lead guitarist of Cerberus and an agreement was made to re-release the original album rough mix fully remastered by Patrick Engel on both vinyl and CD in an edition of 400 copies each. Since the band could save one of those original 30 years old LP covers, the vinyl will be released with it's original planned sleeve! Besides an insert with old pictures and the history of the band, additionally an A2 replica of an original Cerberus album motive poster will be added, as well as an old A5 info booklet (4 pages) of the band and 2 stickers.
CD's and vinyls will be released during early 2024. If everything turns out the way the band and the label wishes, the CD will additionally include a DVD with an old live concert from 1989 as well! Stay tuned, more news will be added soon!

Re: Cerberus - Trójska vojna - soon to be released!
This one genuinely got me salivating - a truly great discovery! Sure there's a few basic Thrash-bits here & there, but for the most part this is Epic Eastern Steel at its finest and they beat up soooo many conteporary Speed/Thrash/Power-LPs from the era+area and leave them crying in the corner of the schoolyard. Def' have that Master Hammer'ish vibe on plenty of harmonies and riffs, as well as a general Credo/Varvar/Sexxit Eastern darkness to it. Can't wait to spin a proper vinyl at home

Re: Cerberus - Trójska vojna - soon to be released!
The CD's/LP's should be available in February/March. The band has approved any print files and right now the album is finally in production...

Will this be available at HRR? Or at some German shop/label?

I doubt HRR will have copies, but Iron Bonehead definitely will get a couple of vinyls. We've already arranged something.
Btw, the vinyls should arrive on February 15th...
We've decided to press 200 black and 200 red splatter vinyls which additionally will include a special handmade coin for Charon!
All vinyls will have a poster and old info booklet as well as 2 stickers.
CD's will include a free A6 sticker as well.

Re: Cerberus - Trójska vojna - soon to be released!
Have read the review in the latest LEGACY mag. Positive, but Chris Wachter has managed to rename the band into CEREBUS in the title and twice in the review, but once he has typed it right. Total exhaustion or hochstaplerei? Should I scold them or you will ?

Picked up a copy from Discogs so looking forward to receiving and listening to it
Remember kids, only high priced rarities are true...
Re: Cerberus - Trójska vojna - soon to be released!
Please do not buy this from Discogs if wanna save money. All the fees they ask for there you can easily avoid by just contact the E-Mail above.
It's without all the taxes, just the price for the record + actual shipping costs to your country.

Well, to be honest rather a review with flaws than no review. The band and I have been really happy to see it in the mag. On the other hand the "selfclaimed defenders of Metal" Deaf Forever completely ignored the album. They got a copy for review as well and it probably ended in their trash bin.
